tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Sorry but its just painful reading y'all waste your time talking about clueless scenarios. NUMBERS AREN'T A CONCERN. They always work themselves out, if there's a stud who wants in, he's in..... What is with this fear conditioned, constantly paranoid like underestimation of numbers? How many cycles does it take for you to finally learn how these things work themselves out?!? Its amazing to me the persistence of this ignorance.... Anyways, with recent attrition and further attrition expect we get a class of about 26, with a surprise stud or 2.

Also, From what I've seen Giesicki is a secondary want. Ive seen nothing to indicate the staff is really going for it. Brown and Dixon are better players. I know losing Thomas and all, but I just don't see him in this class. Look to next years class for TEs IMO.
The coaches know the numbers and the rosters ..numbers really mean little..see Saban, Kiffin.

Assuming that Miller, Roby and Shazier goes to the NFL after this season, we are at 21 already (including Frazier). I think we reach 25 for this class.

Agree with pnuts that spots are saved for the following:
McMillan
Holley
Lattimore
Smith
Prince

The last two are the wildcards. Have to think they'd like a JUCO OL with Mavety being the top choice. With Mack Brown's imminent departure at UT, would love to make a run at Jerrod Heard or one of Texas's top DL that we are chasing.

Miller is not going to the NFL.

Gesicki is also in the mix.

I don't think Miller leaves. He is just scratching his ceiling and he has way to go before becoming an NFL QB. I also believe Shazier stays. I don't know why, but just my gut. Hawk and Laurinaitis both came back, and I feel Shazier will carry that tradition at the LB-U.

So with Philly Brown, Chris Fields and gone next year, whose gonna fill the WR spots? Unless D Smith has an incredible year, I feel like he will stay.

Here is the list of the WR we will have next year (Due to the fact we hardly have any Sr WRs, it’s gonna be a huge list). This is assuming that everyone stays.

Current Roster

· Devin Smith
· Evan Spencer
· Jalin Marshall
· Michael Thomas
· Dontre Wilson
· Corey Brown
· James Clark

· Devonte Butler
· Frank Epitropoulos
· Khaleed Franklin
· Jeff Greene
· Peter Gwilym
· Devlin Mcdaniel
· Kato Mitchell
· Brandon Ojikutu

Class of 2014

· Curtis Samuel
· Noah Brown
· Malik Hooker
· Terry Mclaurin
· Lonnie Johnson

I have the guys in red projected as starters for next year, and guys in blue with chance to get in some significant playing time. On that list, I think Noah could help us out and play the split-end. We need a big physical WR and he could fill that role. Either way, the speed on this roster is just insane. Samuel, Wilson, Clark, McLaurin, Marshall all run a 4.4.or faster.

I don't know too much about the other guys listed. I know Frank is a good talent and may see some action on special teams. Jeff Greene and his 6'5" frame can be put to use in red zone situations. If anyone else knows a bit more about some of the walk-ons and other guys, please insight me. :)

Presuming you meant Corey Smith in this list for next year, not Corey "Philly" Brown?

You forgot to mention parris Campbell for the 2014 class, and Malik hooker is being brought in to play S. Out of the walk on players mentioned, Jeff Greene could see the field due to his size. IMO, Wilson won't be listed as a true WR, because I believe urban will want to get him in as many positions to succeed as possible, so he'll be a RB as well. I could see Corey smith or even jalin Marshall starting next year. I really want to put Michael Thomas as a player who will see a lot of time, but he hasn't shown much this early in the season, so I'll hold off until the season progresses to see how the staff sees his importance going into the offseason. Marshall's size and speed, though still quite raw at the position, make him very interesting and a high risk high reward player. Corey smith, IMO, is a low risk high reward, as he doesn't have great size and speed, he is good to above average in both areas, but has some very good hands. WR core will be young next year, but still very talented

I don't see smith as being a wildcard, he's as much in the class as any of the players listed. Prince will be a fight to the end, but smith has a spot saved and will be in this class with marshon and marcelys
