That would be all types of awesome! And then we can move on to focusing on the o line and shoring up the defense. And possibly working on a late surprise commit
We'll have to wait another 6 months for any "late" commits. It's crazy how quickly this class is filling up. What will we do in late January? :tongue2:

The kids left on our board have spots waiting for them and don't need to rush

If Noah Brown commits before Berrios does, Berrios' "OFFER" becomes "offer" because a spot will be saved for Samuel. We very likely won't be taking more than two more WR/ATH types in this class (see this). So, no, not all "kids left on our board have spots waiting for them".

We could have p to 20 commits before the seasons starts. I never thought that would happen for a few different reasons.

Samuel and Brown would be great to get locked in.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe there is more room than we know about.

I know Perkins surprised them and they were not expecting to have to turn Gardner away. Those are 2 unexpected scholarships the staff was not banking on.

Maybe Berrios is benefitting from extra room we don't know about.

There are ways the staff can add spots to this class as well. They can RS Griffin as a walkon next Fall and then put him on scholarship when we get the 3 schollies back. J.T. Moore might not want his 5th year...offer him a grad assistant spot if he wants to go into coaching.

I think this class is gonna be 24-25...I get a feeling things are happening behind the scenes.

And think about some of the kids OSU is trying to close with:

Curtis Samuel - 98 (24/7 Composite)
Noah Brown - 92
Tyler Luatua - 94
Mike Gesicki - 92
Damian Prince - 98
Chad Mavety - 96
Solomon Thomas - 97
Thomas Holley - 98
Raekwon McMillan - 99
Marshon Lattimore - 97
Erick Smith - 90

I know that's not everyone but that is a heck of a list...according to 24/7 if they could land my list from the predictions thread they'd close with:

Samuel - 5-star
Lattimore - 4-star
Smith - 4-star
McMillian - 5-star
Holley - 5-star
Brown - 4-star
Prince - 5-star

PS - Just noticed Marshon Lattimore's crystal ball is now 100% OSU...just I looked back to see what happened:

This. I think Berrios is a great player and I want him here, but I also think Noah's offer does not have strings attached. I see Samuel and Brown hopping on board, then we figure out everything else.

If your scenario happened then that would be great, imo. I'd take brown over berrios anyway. I didnt word my statement correctly, and also if say Prince were to commit, then mavety would now have an "offer", but that scenario would be good as well. In both scenarios we arevgetting elite talent, but also have to turn down elite talent. That's a good problem to have. But out of our remaining list of guys on our board, lattimore, smith, mcmillan and samuel have spots saved, only 2 spots left after that with 2-3 kids competing for that spot, and all the staff and fans would love to get. I'm loving being in this spot

It was obvious we were slow playing Eluemunor which I assumed was for Mavety figuring the staff would take one of the JUCO guys no matter what. I am starting to wonder now if the staff felt solid about Knox all along (and liked his versatility) then maybe they planned on just one more for the OL and the preference has always been Prince making the pecking order Prince, Mavety, Eluemunor. Not saying we won't take 2 more for the OL group just wondering if we did get Prince to commit soon if the staff would perhaps slow down on Mavety and see the way the rest of the class shaped up. I know it sounds crazy but I am starting to wonder if guys like Mavety and Brown are wait and see guys considering we are actually very early in the cycle and there are tons of elite guys left.

edit: To expand on my point, not counting the guys we already feel good about like Lattimore, McMillan, Samuel etc., here are elite guys we could still have a shot at. Think about how we could pursue these guys if we landed Prince and slowed down on Mavety, Brown, Berrios, etc.

Tony Brown
Thomas Holley
Solomon Thomas
Malik McDowell
Mark Andrews
DeShaun Watson
Derrell Scott
Saeed Blacknall
Tyler Luatua
Ermon Lane
JuJu Smith
Joe Mixon
Jamal Adams
Lorenzo Featherston

*Do I think there are only a small handful on this list we have a realistic shot at? Of course. My point is that the benefit of putting out a bunch of offers is perfectly shown in this class. We are already a well rounded class with most of our needs pretty well addressed full of really good/elite players. And, we are sitting on a class like this pretty early in the cycle heading in to a NC type season where we will be getting tons of eyeballs. Why be in a hurry to fill up the last few spots at this point with guys unless they are elite? That's no knock on the guys I mentioned like Mavety and Brown, just saying we are certainly in no position to be in a rush. Honestly, again this is no knock, I am surprised the staff took a verbal from Hooker at this point. I think it was a very smart move on his part and shows me the staff must think very highly of him which is good enough for me. We landed Wilson last year who was committed to another school. He was not on our radar as a realistic prospect. All of the players on this list are uncommitted except for Watson.

He also has Berrios going to Miami.

I know that you would like Gesicki very much but I do not see him listed above. I guess from that I assume you think we will not be taking a TE this year but do you see any of the guys we have recruited so far besides Hubbard possibly filling that role.

Just can't figure how to squeeze him or any other TE (like Luatua) into this class...if someone else can, I'd appreciate the help.

Honestly, why do we need a TE in this class? With heurman, vannet, thomas and baugh were pretty set at the position. And get a TE/h back in 2015 class

And showmebuck, idk why we would slow play brown or even mavety if they want to commit. The list you gave, I don't think one of the guys is really considering us. Itd be nice to wait for one of those "prayer" offers and see if we reel one in. But if we're already in on 2 top rated guys at their respective positions, why play games with them and start to slow play them? Mavety and brown aren't far off ratings wise from the guys you named. And fit great in our offense
