Game Thread tOSU at NW'ern, Oct 5, 8 ET, ABC/ESPN/ESPN2

Leaving for vacation tomorrow and won't be back until the 21st. Keys to the game on O: Score fast, often and don't stop. D: Discipline on the edges, get to the qb and don't give up the big play in the secondary. Know they will test Von Bell early. Final prediction: tOSU 42 NW 28. Will hopefully be watching from my hotel room and if not then a bar (don't want to blow all my funds on booze) FUCK MICHIGAN AND O-H!!!!

Cats are not as balanced of a team as Wisky, but their offense is more potent.
Disagree. Wisconsin is still 12th in total offense, even after our game with them...Northwestern is 30th. Northwestern is actually higher in scoring offense than Wisconsin (41.3 ppg vice 37.6 ppg), but two of NW TDs against Cal were interception returns...take those points away and their scoring average drops to 37.8 ppg, and they haven't played us yet. Wisconsin's scoring average took a hit when we held them to 24 points after they averaged 41 ppg in their first four games. I think we bring NW's offense to a screaching halt Saturday night...

You also have to account for NW playing slightly better opponents than Wisconsin (ignoring their game against us). But yes, I agree with what you've stated otherwise. I think they get anything from 24-35 tops. We get 31 minimum, 7,432 maximum.

Headed out to Chitown tomorrow from Southern MO for the game. 10th row, 45 yard line. I hope to see a first class beat down up close. Looks like rain - forecast at 70% for the day. My 11 year old son could care less about the rain he is just ready to see the boys up close....the wife is not so pleased. "Honestly babe, what do you mean it isn't fun to sit in the driving rain just to watch a football game?"

If we get a steady dose of rain it probably hurts us a bit more as our passing game is surely superior. I'm just hoping the low turnover stat line continues. I believe we are doing fairly well at limiting turnovers this season. Continuing that trend is my biggest concern for Saturday.

Go Bucks!!

Showme... I jope you knocked on wood after talking about the low turnover stat:wink:.

The Bucks just need to control the tempo and we should be good. Wear them down a little bit. Hope the rain holds off or is light.

We were close to laying a true beatdown on a solid Wisconsin team, and Wisconsin always, always plays us tough. Conversely, aside from the 2004 upset at Evanston, we ape-fuck Northwestern on a continuous basis. No reason why we shouldn't win this game by three TDs minimum...

Meyer: "Tressel Football is outstanding. I studied Tressel Football."

I too have studied Tressel Football. It is as close to torturing the other team as one can do legally because they think they almost won, which is more painful than knock out, because they feel bad about one or two mistakes. Wisky was beating itself up over the dropped interception.

If I remember right, last year, we beat tSUN by 5, Wisky by 7, and MSU by 1.

Northwestern had better pray that Meyer doesn't play them like Tressel did after the 2004 upset...

As long as the DL continues to control the trenches, I think this game is ours. NW has alot of weapons on offense, especially with Mark back at RB (maybe the best RB in the conference), but that is all for not if we can dominate things up front. I have no doubts the OL will push them around and the offense will raise hell generally. Just need our D to slow them down.
