The Buckeyes head to Evanston -the teams haven't played since 2008.

The average score since the 2004 loss in Evanston: 51.25 to 8.5.

Very much looking forward to this game. It is a shame OSU doesnt get to curb stomp the mildcats every year. I have quite a few Northwestern grads who are friends and they always throw a pretty good tailgate. This will also most likely be my son's first OSU game.

Have my eye on this one...Fitzgerald always puts out quality products and imo, they were the 2nd best team in the Big Ten last year but just made baffling mistakes in the 4th quarter (their average loss was under a touchdown to each of Penn St., scUM, and Nebraska). Then they beat MSU and Syracuse away, convincingly beat Miss. St. in the Gator Bowl, and beat Vanderbilt.

I realize that was last year but they have most of those players back and I think they are the most dangerous team in the Big Ten to beat us next year. They replace 3 OL but are mostly intact, especially Kain and Mark in the offensive backfield. Luckily we'll have plenty of game experience under our belts by then but I just would not overlook this game at all.

How hard to get tickets for Northwestern? Might make a long weekend and visit NU and the Chi-town.

The game will sell out. I know alumni season ticket holders were able to purchase 8 additional tickets for this game. That is how my wife and I are getting tickets.

I would expect the majority of them will be available on craigslist, stubhub, etc.

Closer to game time I can let you know if my NU crew has extras.

Ohio State-Northwestern goes prime time

Northwestern's Oct. 5 game against Ohio State will be played in prime time, making for a potentially huge night in Evanston.

The Wildcats return all their top skill players from a team that finished the season ranked 17th. If they can survive a season-opening visit to Cal and beat Syracuse at home, only Western Michigan and Maine would stand in the way of an undefeated record and potential top-15 ranking heading into the 7 p.m. game with the Buckeyes, who could start the season No. 1.

Northwestern will have an extra week to prepare, and its Big Ten opener is also Homecoming, so Buckeyes fans likely won't be able to fill Ryan Field as in years past.

The game will be televised by either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.

The 8:00 start time is terrible news for Northwestern. I was a bit worried about this game until i heard it was going to be a late game. A night game in Chicago on National TV just took away any chance of our guys overlooking this game.
