Game Thread tOSU at NW'ern, Oct 5, 8 ET, ABC/ESPN/ESPN2

One more serious game before we hit clear sailing till THE GAME. Hopefully, not let down, and Wisconsin's play should help tOSU from being overconfident.

As someone who can be quoted as saying we'll be undefeated this season, and in doing so beating a scUM record from the 40's, I hate seeing the bold text. It's not that I don't think we'll win, but damn that's an annoying 5 game stretch against teams who will have nothing to lose. Other than Purdue they all might be looking at becoming bowl eligible against us as well. I for one certainly hope Indiana doesn't become the new Purdue on our schedule.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

Biggest game at NW maybe ever. Gameday's going to be there and they are going to be fired up. Plus they have a bye week to prepare. We better be ready that's all I can say. This game scares me much more than Wisconsin did.

Was very worried about Wiscy. That said, I'm really worried about this one too. NW coming off a bye week and OSU coming off a very physical game and with the loss of Bryant our secondary will be playing some young guys against a very pass happy team. Granted we won't stack the box in this game and give more support to the pass game but we need to get pressure in the backfield early. Night game and expect to see a lot of scarlet in the stands. If we don't play Tressel ball like we did last night the whole second half, I think we win by 13+.

Defense has to be on their A game and someone has to step up in Bryant's absence. NW throws a lot at you with their offense and as others have said, they've had a bye week to prepare. I know that Fitzgerald will have his boys ready for this one and expect some crazy trick plays in there too. This one will be a battle.

Don't know wh but I'm not worried about this game. Look if we did fine against such a sound football team like wisconsin then we will be more than fine.

Bottom line nw doesn't have a offensive line, defensive line, linebackers, or running backs nearly as good as wisconsin. They also don't have a wr as talented as abbredarus and they bring in a different qb when they want to throw the ball.

Mark and coltier are dangerous players but they do not have a quick passing game and they certainly don't have a rushing attack as dangerous or as taxing as wisconsin. Bottom line they won't have a answer for our offense and while they have some nice play makers lack a lot in the trenches.

Not to mention there will be just as much red as purple in the stands

I wouldn't underrate Illinois passing attack. With the loss of Bryant - who has stepped up big time this year - and a Buckeye secondary that has been very awful giving up a bunch of yardage through the air, the Illini pose a threat. Will they win? Most likely no, but don't discount them.
