It's always better to be in the National Championship game (even if you get thumped) than to never have gotten there. You can't ever win a National Championship without first getting into the championship game.

Does it seem like the Big Ten would have been best served had MSU simply lost a close one to UConn? I know they don't think so, and I understand the adage that you can't win if you ain't there. But let's face it: No one was going to come close to Carolina in the National Title game.

I'm not happy for Hansbrough or UNC, but it always gives me pleasure to see Roy Williams succeed. I'd prefer Izzo and Sparty to have won it, but Roy Williams getting another title is just fine by me. Among other reasons, the way he handled himself when he left Kansas for UNC, as well as showing up to support Kansas in the title game last year has earned my utmost respect for Roy as a coach and a man.

The key to this game is turnovers.

Sparty had trouble taking care of the ball all season, until it reached the tourney, where it finally found the handle.

Lost the handle again, big-time, against the Heels.

That's why this is so frustrating. I know MSU is capable of beating these guys. They beat down two very good teams right before this. Bad time to have an off night.
