Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

did you see the questions they were asking him?

(paraphrasing) Tiger, now knowing that your divorce has cost you 750MM, do you think it was worth it?

you've got to be kidding me if you think he is going to answer that question with anything but a one word answer.

Oh, I dunno...I can think of at least one two-word answer.

It is important to note that if Tiger doesn't triumph at St. Andrews in two weeks the two will be tied with 14 a piece as Jack won his 14th major at the '75 PGA. Tiger does have father time on his side as he is a little younger (I think a year) than Jack in his stage of his career.

Looks like Tiger and Jack are essentially "tied" with the number of major wins during this stage of their careers....

For the first time, I'm starting to worry about Tiger. Firestone is the closest thing I think of to being a home course for the guy, 18 over is almost unbelievable . At the rate he's going, he could end up on the Nationwide Tour.

Tiger just finished the first tournament in 11 years where he didn't have a round that broke par.

I think he's done. I think Jack's record is safe.

BTW now he has TWO tournaments where he had a round that didn't break par.

And I still think he's done. He has clearly lost his edge.

Does anybody think this might bring back whispers of the rumor of performance enhancing drugs? Personally I think it is lack of interest and non-desire to practice ( I read that somewhere)......

I heard yesterday from a non-touring professional golfer that he doesn't look as put together as he did before he started to "play". It just looks like he doesn't give a damn and, in some cases, yesterday he showed no respect for the game (knocked in a pot while a guy was marking). The non-touring pro also thought that Tiger should play in some lesser events, Quad City Open or something like that, to get his confidence back.

Tiger was officially divorced yesterday.

Link

They'll have "shared parenting" duties, and terms were not disclosed.

Elin went back to her maiden name. I would expect her to spend most of her time in Sweden.

Jack and tiger are essentially tied now in terms of pace of major wins: from their first major till now both have won 14 out of 56 majors that they entered. However, Jack is entering a period where he didn't win for another major for 2 1/2 years finally ending the drought with the "78 British.

The 10 starts without a major tied the longest drought of his career (up to this point). His other period was from 67-70. Interestingly enough Tiger has had three such droughts (97-99), (2002-2005), and from 2008 to present......
