Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

If that was the result of careful planning, coaching & acting, that adds another epic failure to this ongoing mess. I'm pretty sure an Apple IIgs circa 1993 would've had better delivery using a text-to-speech converter.

Robotic, emotionless delivery... awkward pauses every two words... failed attempts to feign overwhelming emotions...

Jwin echoes my thoughts exactly. This was a completely scripted presentation, done by the best PR specialists/spin doctors money can buy. The talking heads put the best face on it they could, as Tiger is key to the on-going gravy train called professional golf. The other pros, never fear, will say on stage that they hope that the fans can forgive, as their paychecks are predicated on how many fans purchase tickets, or that the networks will pay for to gain market share, in order to sell their commercial time.

I wish that I could believe, but cannot. Tiger may have dealt the PGA tour a fatal blow, but it will take several years before the body realizes that the head has been cut off. I wish him well.

Report: Tiger mistresses want apology

Tiger Woods' apology made one of his mistresses want to bare her claws, the New York Post reported Saturday.
Busty Playboy model Loredana Jolie Ferriolo, known as Woods' mistress No. 10, wondered why the golf great's long-winded statement seemed to have an apology for everyone in the universe but her and the other "other women" in his life.
"He didn't mention anything about the girls (he had trysts with)," the Sicilian-born model told the Post after watching his press conference.
"It seems like he was just brushing it off and not getting into it. I think he should've mentioned something in regards to the girls, an apology or something."
Ferriolo thought he owed his list of mistresses an apology because he was responsible for dragging their names into the mud.
"He was saying how the media was harassing him and going around after his kids, disturbing his family. But I'm sure all the girls have dealt with the same," she said. "I have, my life has changed drastically."

The absence of their mention crossed my mind. But how do you apologize to a porn star for screwing her?

He addressed the issue of mistresses when me referred to how temptation came to him so easily. In other words, he is a guy, so he succumbed to temptation. They are gals, so they are just sluts.

Again he was spot on - appealing to the average male golf fan who is thinking; "I wish I was famous so I could get me some sluts."

The crying is bad but the mere suggestion that this dirtbag could be an "inspiration" to anybody is absurd. Pretty soon he will emerge as the "victim" who fell pray to some "cheap wailing sluts"...Kelly Savalas would be proud. People have to realize that his acceptance back on the tour is a no brainer. The majority of the golf fan base is rooted in corporate america, it's not a blue collar fan base. The country club set has the same moral compass as Woods...so they certainly aren't going to condemn him for something they are doing. It's sad to see any sport get on their knees and beg someone to come back like golf has done.

I had to LOL when I heard the golf rep say that if people booed him they would be ejected from the crowd....good grief...total babies involved in this "sport"...

That's how golf has been forever, not just as a courtesy to Woods...

Woods did pretty much all he could do in his address to the media. Now he's going back into rehab.

Who cares about the sluts? They knew what they were getting into when they bedded Woods; they deserve jack squat, and certainly no apologies. Did they expect Tiger to divorce Elin to marry them? :slappy: This was, after all, consensual sex. Grow up, girls.

No promises as to when he'll play competitive golf again, which is pretty much all I really cared about. Bummer.

Exactly.

All of the idiots who scream "In the Hole" ( I guess that takes a new meaning now huh?) would have been ejected immediately if it was Nicklaus putting 30 years ago. Just remember that.

Woods: You can't make a ho into a housewife. Sorry.

I don't understand all of the thoughts from individuals that the tour needs Tiger. I don't care if he ever plays again - I'll watch the majors either way, and not give a crap about all the other tournaments either way. And the majors will be full of competitve drama either way.

I know the attendance and TV ratings will suffer without him, but that doesn't affect me in the least.

Yeah besides nailing women is more of a sport than golf is. Just sayin...

All you need to do is look inside your own post to answer your question. Plenty of people will watch with or without Tiger. But a lot more will watch with him. And that's why you see Tim Finchem in the front row protecting his company's most valued asset.

And it does affect the overall perception of the majors. Without the best player in the world, the tournament is missing a big something. The other players can publicly or even privately moan about the attention Tiger gets, but he makes them all more money when he's playing.

I'm confused here. Did he rape them? Were they too stupid to know he was married? Don't they owe Elin an apology for... I don't know.... sleeping with her husband?
