This is where I would compare Tiger to Danica Patrick (outside of the winning... obviously). People bitch and moan that they get all of the coverage and considerations, but do you ever see them bitching about the amount of money they make everybody else with all of that coverage?

The fact is that Tiger Woods makes a lot of people a lot of money. That fact is only accentuated by recent events. If he is in contention at his first major of this year, it will break the ratings record and advertisers/media will love him again.

PGA tour can't pay appearance fees.

I seriously doubt he plays in the Masters this year. The deadline to register is coming up soon, and I really think he would have indicated his intentions if he were planning to play.

One thought I had earlier... If Tiger truly respects the game and The Masters Tournament the way I think he does, he would be foolish to make that his comeback tourney. Nothing should ever take away from the Master's. No one person is bigger than that event.

I'll never forgive him for being outed as a guy who stiffed everyone on tips and who demanded to be comped on everything. One of the joys of being a Tiger wealthy cat would be the ability to make it rain on hard working folks waiting on you. Incomprehensible to be a billionaire and stiff a waitress.... Wait. Actually, I don't think that's right at all Gator. I think Tiger is in his own personal hell right now, which is not only having blondes throwing themselves at him left and right that he can't touch, but having a blonde supermodel at home but being unable to f^$% her either.

And it does...major league significantly. Golf isn't like other sports that can absorb the loss of their biggest player. Hell even the NBA suffered when Jordan left (both times) and they're in a much better position (or were) to deal with that than golf is.

I thought he only had to let them know a week ahead of time (because he has an automatic bid as a past champion).

Doesn't matter. You're right about respecting the tournament, although I still think that's the only tournament that could afford him the privacy that he's going to want.

I learn something new everyday. you are correct (kind of). in actuality all it says on the masters invitations is please RSVP. technically, he could show up Wednesday and get a tee time in the tournament on Thursday.
