Thread of What You've Eaten, Cooked and/or Drunk Lately

sweet!
let me know how it turns out

and believe me, I know all about not being cheap.
I'm in a damn desert now!

I had a food truck roll through here last month. Dude gets his stuff from Lafayette.
1 pound of Gator filet
1 pound of gator nuggets (already breaded)
2 links of fish boudin
2 links of sausage
some ribeye stuffed jalapenos

$150
1 lb of lump crab meat and 2 lbs of crawfish tails were $63.

Nothing so fancy as a well-done sushi tidbit, but wifey made outstanding corned beef and cabbage for Paddy's Day. Ate well, but also knew that the left-overs would be transformed into outstanding Reuben's in the next day or two. And so it was. Not able to include pictures (lack of experience/knowledge), but let y'all use your imaginations. PS, am surprised at the elevated levels of sushi in other places, not close to Japan. Daughter hasn't found a good sushi restaurant in C'bus. Any recommendations? She's in the North End.

JESUS!

just did a crawfish boil event this past weekend
Prices for everything was stupid high for bayou folk like me, but pretty decent for the desert.

Entry fee (by far most expensive part), 3 sacks of crawfish, 7 cases of beer (at highway robbery prices because we had to buy them from the event center and couldn't bring in outside alcohol), 20 bags of ice, all the extras needed for a boil (also at highway robbery prices), I'm out about $1,300 or so.

Now these are exquisite pics, not diarrhea on a hubcap photos like DubCoff posts.
Stop saying that, you're making me hungry    Now you have to see my latest diarrhetic creation. A whole chicken braised in onion, celery, garlic, tomatillos, poblanos and yellow chiles. You think Taco Bell is bad, you ain't seen nuthin' until you down a few bowls of this
