Omar isn't any danger to anyone outside the game. Even if you're inside it, it seems that Omar is just doing his job.

Have you gotten to Season 3, Episode 6, yet? If not, you are in for a treat my friend. In what I think is the best scene in the entire series, one of the characters will dispel of any simple moral defense of Omar.

No, I've only just finished season one.

My point remains. No one is fucking with McNulty's kids at this point.

The scene from Season One, Episode Four where they are investigating the old murder scene, and all they say is fuck for about 5 minutes, was hilarious.

Indeed.

Great show, but how they wrapped Omar Little (the best character) was complete shit!

Spoiler for those who haven't finished the series...

The first time I watched it I thought the same thing. The more I think about it, it wouldn't have been right for him to go down guns blazing. He could only have gotten it when he least expected it.

Flawless show except for the last season...

I understand that they wanted to focus on a different area of society in each season, but adding the newspaper business to an already saturated show with voluminous storylines was a little over the top. Add on the fact that it was only 10 episodes, and season 5 just felt rushed.

You could watch the entire season multiple times over and not be able to decide whether its a superb social commentary or a character-driven masterpiece. (its both)

Omar is probably the best character in television history.

Which exactly why I feel they wrote that the way they did. Pure genius, IMO.

Honestly, I got the impression that they didn't know how to end it for him and copped out a little bit. I didn't expect him to go out like Scarface, but having that little shit Kenard do it, in public, was weak.

Yeah, I'd rather him went out by infection to his shattered leg in the janitor's closet.

I think the point of having Kenard do it was that no man in the game could have gotten to Omar. Only someone he would not have expected; someone he would have overlooked. Like that little bastard Kenard.

And it had to burn Marlo up inside in his last scene where the guys on the corner are remembering Omar like a legend. If he (Marlo) could have been the one to put him out of business, then his status could have been cemented - which is all Marlo apparently cared about. Omar won.
