Definitely one of the best shows ever. I particularly loved the season that focused on the school. I live across the street from a middle school (predominantly black), and one of the teachers looks exactly like Pryzbylewski.

Loved the "Amsterdam" episodes in the 3rd season. They needed the crime rate to drop, and without making drastic measures like that, he would have been fired anyways. So why not... LEGALIZE drugs, temporarily. LOL

Congratulations to all those who are just discovering the show. It is the only show that I've bought on DVD after having already watched it.

I just watched the miniseries The Corner on HBO on demand. This is the mini series on HBO that launched the same people to create The Wire. Powerful powerful ending on The Corner.

To complete my obsession, I just ordered the book Homicide by David Simon. Then I'll probably watch that show.

I knew of the show, just never had HBO to watch it. So as soon as I got Netflix, it was the first thing I searched for... Now I'm on the 4th season. It's too damn addicting.

Sheeeee-it. How did the actor portraying Clay Davis not win an emmy for best supporting actor.

You can substitute that actor for any other on the show and I'm wondering the same thing.

He was also in the excellent movie "25th Hour" with Ed Norton. He did his trademark "Sheeeeeeeittt" in that movie as well.

Re watching season 1 and so far McNutty has taken a crack head to their soccer game, on his night with them picked up Omar "The Terror" a notoriously violent murder to take him to the morgue to see his gay bf's dead body, and then had his kids follow the number two of a dangerous crime syndicate at a grocery store subsequently loosing them in the process. He seriously makes Tony Soprano look like father of the year.

The kids were never in ANY danger.

I guess those were the few times he wasn't blacked out on Jamison so you may be right.

I like in one of the early episodes how Bunk hammered drunk tries to light his clothes on fire so he won't get caught cheating haha.

I think you're missing a lot of the subtlety in this show. Just my opinion...but for instance...Omar isn't any danger to anyone outside the game. Even if you're inside it, it seems that Omar is just doing his job. Bubbs wasn't any more of a problem. In fact, I think it was pretty fuckin' cool part, watching Bubbles take in all that kids laughing, big ass fields of green grass stuff. It affected him, imo.

Stringer Bell is one of the smarter characters in the show so far, to me. He's the least likely to fuck with a cop at this point. I mean, the only harm that comes to the police at any point in season one is...shit...I don't want to spoil anything...but it seems to me the most dangerous battles the cops fight are with their own demons.

They could've been following Al Capone.

Exactly.
