The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

No one of significance died, and nothing was resolved. It was a supposed finale and we didn't even get the full cast. We had an asshole reading a history book and a dorky kid who has lost his mind. That was 50% of the episode. Yes, Deanna died, but in the grand scheme that was wasted because there was no consequence to it. She had already ceded her power to Rick. It was clear she was clueless as to how to survive. There was no eureka moment with her sociopath son. Nothing. Maggie escaped 100 walkers by herself...a week or two after 2 of them almost killed her and another person in the sewer. It's like none of it is consistent anymore. Add in the fact that the Morgan/Carol thing was not only wasted in the midst of a horde attack, but came to no resolution. They will both wake up and blame each other for ugly fuck teeth escaping. La de da.

I will say a lot of the camera work and cinematography was good, and the pacing wasn't bad. The material was just scuzz-rocket. If that was supposed to have people gritting their teeth for 2 months, that was a serious overestimation. I may reflect on this episode and hate it not as much...but I will hate it.

I thought we agreed that he was to be referred to as "Fucked up teeth guy"?

Here is my prediction, without knowing anything but based on a couple of things...when Negan shows up, he's gonna wreck someone. But not Glenn...it will be Darryl

Nah. If the pattern of same death different character holds it'll be dear Maggie. I can't imagine they'd tease Glenn's death like that if they were going to give him the death everyone already expects. He's being set up to become the fearless leader of hilltop that Maggie becomes in the comics.

Man, that's an amazing line of thinking, but much like they haven't killed Judith off on TV, I just can't imagine them taking a baseball bat to a woman's head on TV. I could be wrong.

That's exactly why I think it's going to happen. Lemme walk you through my thoughts: The show is catching up wit the comics at a rapid pace, mostly forced by the fact that Chandler Riggs (CORAL) has aged 7 years in what really should only be a few years on the show. He is a central character if the show continues to progress down the road of the comics (as it has done so successfully this past season and a half) and they need to get past the time jump that happens after All Out War sooner rather than later to make it all "sync". In the COMICS, there is a very young child being raised in Hilltop by the leader of the community... MAGGIE, a child who many believe will be important to the show's overall finale... whenever or whatever that may be. In the SHOW there is nary enough to time for Maggie to go through 9 months of childbearing, have a kid and have him grow up to be the age the kid is by the time they get there in the comics if they continue to follow the same pacing. There is however a child that is roughly the age that that child is already on the show, little ass-kicker herself. We can all assume that for both TV and story purposes having two young children to keep up with in this world is not something the writing staff want to contend with... and there's no chance in hell they kill a toddler on AMC... sooooooo: Let's kill two birds with one ...baseball bat...

You have to remember, this show is the most watched show on cable... and something like this, with as much pomp that's going to surround it will have to be HUGE. They're aware of how big the hype is surrounding the introduction of Negan. His appearance in the comics wasn't just a "big deal" it was the entire turning point for the series. Everything in TWD universe can be described as before and after Negan. We know his introduction is the season finale this year. If they fully intend on keeping this show on air for as long as possible, they absolutely cannot drop the ball here. There's unlimited potential if they make season 7 reflect the highly consequential nature of "All Out War" to get the show caught up to the comics in a way where the season on TV is a "season" behind the comics. That's an ideal spot for them to maximize the potential of both markets. This season has been hard to write, I can imagine... trying to keep the show interesting for those who may know the story already and also keeping the non-comic fans from tearing their hair out at the "in-between" stages of storytelling.

...but this is the same team of writers and producers that took the shitshow that was the Governer's story and brought it to the tragically beautiful conclusion that it rightly deserved... so I trust them to do this well too.

My prediction was based on the rumors that Norman Reedus is joining another show somewhere...not sure if that's verified though
He's doing a show where he rides his motorcycle around going to biker spots across the country.

It's supposed to be like Diners, Drive-in and Dives minus a major douchebag host.

I really don't think that takes the kind of extra time that would require him not being on the show.

First four minutes of Season 6 Mid-Season Premiere.

If the writers want to pull one from left field, right before Negan delivers the "Death Blow" to Glenn, Strand from "Fear the Walking Dead" appears in Virginia (from California) and tries to cut a deal with Negan.

It would be one of the craziest crossovers ever. Strand could still be in a well-tailored suit, years after the start of the Zombie Apocalypse.

I'm not convinced the Death Blow will come to Glenn. I have a feeling they are going to go with real shock value, if you catch my drift.

I think there will be some (maybe the minority, but who knows) who might be disappointed if Glenn doesn't die like in Issue 100 of the comic.

Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) won't even show up until the final couple episodes, but they keep teasing Lucille (bat).

If it were up to me, I'd start killing kids. If it had to be a Season 1 character, then Carl.
