The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Certainly wasn't any of the inept asshats at Alexandria...could have been bad guys, I guess, but you'd have to go full Tyreese to get killed in that situation, however.

Mild spoilers ahead.

I kind of assumed that was partially the point of the scene where they tried to tie up a walker because it killed some of their friends.

One of the things that separates the Alexandrians from Rick's group and other groups like Negan's or the Whisperers is that those groups understand what it takes to survive. I appreciate that Deanna seems like a very different character from Gregory (albeit in the same general role) in that she was up-front about the fact that Rick and his group know more about living in "this world" than they do... I'm excited for the inevitable culling of the herd that we're going to see in the waning episodes of this season as whomever the antagonists outside the walls end up being show up.

Part of me worries that they're trying to "catch up" to the comics in terms of storyline, just to make it easier to keep up the suspense for those that kind of see where they're going before they get there. While I do enjoy being able to pick up little things that those who've never read the comics wouldn't see, I think there's only so long they can continue to tease something then have it come to be in a slightly different way than you expect.

I do agree that there have been filler episodes this season, namely the 2 leading up to the mid-season finale, but I can't think of a show I've watched that didn't require at least a few down the stretch to set up the big finish. Mad Men is notorious for that. The last 3 episodes of each season might as well be a 2 hour movie... but the payoff is always worth it.

A new wrinkle occurred to me as I watched the episode again. When Rick and Carl were fending off Walkers after Rick discovered his gun had been stolen, a Walker came out from underneath a tarp or something pretty close to where the gun had been hidden. Is it possible someone was able to "plant" a Walker close to where he would have been looking for his hidden gun?

It is possible the walker may have been planted there by this other group, possibly the Wolves that were mentioned/spray painted in Noah's development. If they're the ones watching Alexandria, maybe they saw Rick plant the gun, so they took the gun and planted the walker?

How do you plant a walker?

Google wasn't very helpful

We've seen walkers in the past that will just sit in one spot on the ground and not move until someone/something comes along to catch it's attention. I would guess that it's possible in this scenario that the zombie under the tarp was just pondering it's own existence until it caught sight of Rick reaching for the gun and decided he looked tasty.

Interesting episode tonight. I think it was better than a lot of the stuff we got this season. Maybe because it was a little different...lot of sexual tension and an awkward party, I don't know, changed things up a bit I guess. Carol going all crazy on the kid was great, maybe she'll have to show him the flowers later. Sasha is a horrible character, she needs to die. More characters really need to die in general, can't develop 15 characters that all need TV time, not to mention a whole new town with other supporting cast members.

Agreed on all fronts. Really enjoyed this show, wonder how far Rick goes in pursuit of a new baby momma. Carol is absolutely psychotic now and is becoming a liability behind closed doors imo...she seems more protected than even Darryl and Rick, which may perhaps be justified. However, the faking to have no knowledge about guns, taking the guns, and telling all that to the kid is a step beyond what she has done before. And yeah, Sasha is just God-awful...she needs eaten soon.

Carol did what she had to do. That little fuck shouldn't have been following her like he's MI6 the sneaky fuck.

Sasha was right. THAT'S WHAT THE FUCK WORRIES YOU? Darryl wasn't joking when he shot a god dammed opossum and called it dinner. These pampered fuckers need to get got. This Perry County Rep needs to get her shit took on pure principle.

So I liked the episode...I think Rick wanting to break him off some tattooed hairdresser is fun  but...can anyone explain the last 2-3 minutes to me? What was that frap between Booger Red and Michonne? What is the significance of the A stamp, and why did rick reach for his gun when he saw his hottie and her husband walking and showing it? And why did he make out with the wall at the end? I liked most of it, but they lost me at the end.
