The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

I can only guess that it's really hard to write a great episode every week or even 5
of 10 weeks.
I also watch with the wife "The Good Wife" which has superb writing just about every week and the ratings reflect that.
First it's hard to have good writers to start with.
Second to keep up the great writing for one whole season is very hard. A great series with great episodes every week would be "Breaking Bad".
I think the zombie special effects covers up a lot of average writing in The Walking Dead". But. It's frustrating.
I'm still enjoying the superb "Vikings" on History Channel. And I heartily recommend that show.

Yeah I think Gerd said the same thing on twitter as it happened

I'm picturing you every Sunday dressing up like a zombie to watch the show, AMC story synch on the iPad with 20-30 of your favorite twitter feeds on auto-refresh, eating candy eye balls and a bowl of mashed up spaghetti with your hands. Then coming on BP afterward to point out all of the inconsistencies and how much you hate the show (not that I blame you for that part).

Fantastic episode tonight. Really, really brutal but awesome. Every time Glenn gives out orders, the characters make it out alive...this was the first instance he has made a decision that did not work and had to watch a young guy die up close for it.

I disagree, did Glenn cause anyone's death? To me it seems like the Alexandria people caused the deaths because of their lack of experience, selfishness, and stupidity. Deanna's son died because he was a dumbass and shot the walker with the grenade attached to him. Glenn tried to yell out and prevent it, but it was too late. Tara got caught up in the damage I think, not sure there, someone on another board wondered if Eugene didn't accidentally shoot her in the commotion. In any case, that also wasn't on Glenn and we don't know Tara's fate yet. In any case, Eugene got Tara out, so I guess we'll find out. As far as Noah dying, Glenn tried to work with the other Alexandria guy (Can't remember his name) to break the glass, but he reverted to his true selfishness and escaped which left Noah exposed to the walkers and ultimately killed him. I don't think Noah's death is on Glenn in that case as the Alexandria guy did his own thing and didn't follow orders. If anything, people died on the run because they failed to follow Glenn's instructions.

Glenn is used to barking out orders to novice zombie fighters and bringing them out alive...I thought this during the episode and it was reinforced on Talking Dead. Deanna's son shot it right as Glenn yelled but it was stupid to keep shooting.

As for Noah, I believe Glenn told him to slide over and by doing so, his leg got exposed. Regardless of whether it was actually Glenn's fault or not, he perceives it that way since he was in charge of the mission and that is new to him. And for me, that brings back the important element of zombie danger when in numbers and outside safe walls. I understand involving the human element but there are enough shows out there about dangerous humans with guns...every major network fills up the majority of their airtime with it. I need some zombie dangers occasionally to remind me why they are even in this situation and that they are still a threat.

His leg only became exposed because the alexandrian freaked out and instead of letting glen break the glass so they could all get out together he pushed his door out and squeezed free, opening up glen and chris' door to the dead.
