I would like to buy a multi week pass to each park just to say I saw them both.
Well, I can guarantee one thing: neither one will be remotely as efficient as Disney at hoovering Benjamins out of your wallet.

This is a long read but I feel it belongs in this thread.

http://deadspin.com/can-jason-whitlock-save-espns-black-grantland-from-hi-1586606960

Bottom line, it is Greg Howard attacking Jason Whitlock for attacking "black culture". Greg Howard calls Whitlock an Uncle Tom/Uncle Ruckus because of his views on race which IMO makes Whitlock's case. It takes a while to get to the actual point of this piece, but it boils down to Howard does not like Whitlock because Whitlock does not tow the party line which again makes Whitlock's point.

I read this pretty late last night and almost fell asleep a few times reading it so I may have missed something.

That one is a Disney article compared to this one, which is WHitlock after he left ESPN the first time. It's easy to see why he ruffles feathers.

That's the problem in the black community, the "hivemind" and "group think" mentality. Anyone who has their own opinion that doesn't folow a certain narrative is an Uncle Tom which is funny because if anyone would bother to read Uncle Tom's Cabin you'd know that Uncle Tom was the good guy, the little black sambo was the traitor. People like Stephan A Smith and other that speak out abut the problems in the black community are labelled as "anti-black" which by default means that the people that are causing the problems are pro-black. It's mind boggling. The thing is it's an American thing, it has nothing to do with skin color. I work in the middle of a black community. The blacks from Africa and Jamaica are nothing like the Americans.

People who throw the "Uncle Tom" label out there should read about the REAL Uncle Tom, Josiah Henson. That would shut that shit down real fast. But this country is patently ignorant of its history and heroes, so that will never happen.

There is talk of something called a Tribal Mind when discussing conservatives that sounds suspiciously like "hivemind" and "group think". So, there is an interesting "labeling" going on with some groups. It has no real value and shows a lack of critical thinking.
American laziness?

This is an excellent insight, Taos. I'm glad you are pushing for libs not to go all "hivemind" when discussing conservatives. High five, buddy.

Well I would say that members of a certain political party who support a certain platform is probably more justified in expecting to be on the same page than people who just happen to have the same shade of skin and similar DNA.

Stephen A. Smith works with Skip Bayless, so, you know, guilt by association.

Walk into a store with a buck and a pocket full of social progress and see what it buys you.
If you believe that injustice doesn't exist then you don't see a need for "social progress". Regardless of whether it exists in other countries. I'm more concerned about my country and it's direction or lack there of. I want Americans to think about the future of this country. Ideology can stop all progress. Tho some find "progress" a bad idea from the beginning.

Obviously, there are extremes on both sides and extremism is a bad thing. That we can agree on.
But, what passes for "extreme " these days? Or "extreme enough"?
Clearly, we have lost an ability to talk to each other. To have a "common ground" discussion without name calling.
I'd like to see more conservatives talk to "libs" about common ground issues like economics and social issues.
I have had some great discussions with my conservative cousin about abortion as a common ground issue.
So, it is possible if there is a comfort level and basic respect.

I'm not going to suggest that there isn't room for a lot of improvement. But have you visited many other countries? Because I have, and the social injustices in EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY I have visited are significantly larger than here.
Yes. I have traveled a bit and seen the income gap in other countries. People living in shacks.
I'm just more concerned about THIS America. MY country.
