My swing feels like an unfolding lawn chair.

Did have lunch with wife and daughter in the clubhouse, pretty nice, food decent, pretty co-eds serving, many graybeards there lunching. Looked over the new scorecard and spoke with the Asst Pro. In the 'old days' we had to add 5 strokes to our scores on the Gray to be able to post (Scarlet was that much harder). Now they are saying 7 strokes. Course is longer, and probably has a higher course rating.
Anyone played it yet? Would like to know by a 'practitioner' how the new course differs from the old lay-out. On 16 of the Scarlet, used to take the teeball out over the road, and fade it back around the green. Now, that's impossible because of the tree growth. But with the new equipment, some of the young studs probably take it over the top.....

the biggest change is the re-routing of the par 5 4th hole. they moved the green about 100 yards to the right just over the lake. besides that, they dug out all of the traps. they are absolute monsters now. even the fairway traps are 5 feet deep. they blew up the green on 16 and re-did the contours. it is still in the same place. i have heard stories about Jack hitting driver there back in the day. not really possible now. when i was there, there were some long guys on the team, but i never saw anyone try to drive the green. maybe it was because coach would have their balls if they tried it though.
here is a cool rundown of the course.
