I was wondering for all of us on the board what is the best round or rounds you have ever had?

For me I have to go back a long way....(I just started playing regularly again after a hiatus of 20+ years.....

The summer of my sophomore year (early 80's) at OSU I shot a 74 on Scarlet the day after the US Open qualifier. The rough was brutal but fortunately I put it in the short grass.

Shot a 73 at my old course in high school (Fostoria Country Club and when it still was in great condition) just before my 10 year High School reunion.

And I shot a hypothetical 68 on some course in Sanatee, SC during match play about 6-7 years ago. I hadn't even played for probably 18 months and I got lucky bounces a couple of times to go with a hot putter. Since my handicap was in my mind about a 10 (since my one time out a year I usually shot in the low 80's) I know a lot of guys thought I was sand bagging. It was a Ryder Cup style type of tourney and I got drawn against this assistant pro. It was over by hole number 14, as I had something like only 17 putts after that hole, (finished with 24 for the round). I have never come close to duplicating that again.

Now that I am playing or hitting the driving range every week I am once again approaching a single digit handicap...:)

Shot a 83 on Olympia Fields North Course today.

Had 4 doubles, and a quad.

Mixed in w/ a couple duffed chips, including my 4th on the par 5 18th, followed by a chip in for par.

Started double, birdie, single, birdie, quad, par on the back.

.

I shot my best round the first round of the season. I shot a 74 back at course in Eastern Ohio. I haven't broke 80 since
My best round in Columbus was a 78 at Heritage golf club.

I played Pinnacle Golf Club last Friday. I thought the place was fantastic. I highly recommend it if you get a chance to play it.

Anyone play golf club of dublin? I need to know if it is any good.

I have not been there this year so I can't comment on current condition, but overall it is a nice traditional Links type course. They really went for authenticity there so it is not bent grass but fescue, there are rock walls and sod bunkers throughout the course. Overall it is very wide open and the greens are huge and are usually very true but not super fast. The downside is there are homes surrounding almost every hole that take away from the links feel. It is not very long either, I think it may be 7000 from the tips, but the middle tees are no more than 64 or 6500. you can play a lot of Driver wedge there if you don't play the tips. It helps if someone in your group has been there before, or you have a GPS since there are a couple holes where you need to know where the trouble is and how far it is (aim for the clock on the clubhouse on 18 or left of it as the water creeps in from the right) .You can go low there. I enjoy playing there and they have a nice bar/patio for when you finish.

Played in an outing there a week ago...water on 17 of 18 holes I think? The nice thing is there is a ton of room to bail out...

Shot a 77 from the blues (I know Thump...I tried to shame them into playing the tips) at Apple Valley last weekend.

Redid my Auto insurance yesterday and of course the agent wanted the homeowners as well. I mentioned that the price of my son's golf bag and contents thereof was getting up there, and and wanted to know if the clubs would be included.
She sold me a separate policy on the golf clubs ($1,700.00) for $20.00 per year, NO DEDUCTIBLE.
I didn't say,OK, I said heck yes!

A lot of people I know have their best rounds there. Open, not windy, not too terribly difficult. IMO it is not worth the price to play there, I would rather play Clover Valley or the old Dornoch CC than GC of Dublin.

Good for them in keeping with the honor of the game.....I remember my daughter calling a penalty on herself on the first hole of Sectionals for not remembering to remark her coin properly after moving it for another player to putt. The other three players questioned why she called it on herself. They said they wouldn't have cared.....

Do the right thing.......
