Also want to add I play TaylorMade TP Forged irons. I just re-shafted them with ProjectX 6.0s. Now I am thinking of replacing my 51*, 56* and 60*. I keep looking at scratch golf's tour custom, however they are 350/per. http://www.scratchgolf.com/wedges/tour-custom/

Anyone here ever played with a scratch wedge?

Ever see Miura's?

Hand forged, supposed to be the best clubs made. I'm sure the scratches are very similar.

Finished up my weekly scramble, went to play extra holes. (ALMOST had my first hole in one after i shanked my ball off a tree and rolled 5ft from the pin) 4 holes in, gets a lil cloudy, you can hear thunder, nothing bad. I hit my drive, put my stick in the bag, then everyone say "HOLY SHIT!!!" i turn around and the entire fairway is full of YELLOW smoke, lighting hit a tree and tried to catch in on fire. WOW was very scary. headed back to the clubhouse got pelted with hail and was soaked from head to toe. just thought id share.......

weather sucks...

i had to hide out in a weather shelter for 30 minutes last friday while a hail/lightning storm rolled through. it was 68 when i teed off and 52 when i finished the 9th hole. the temp dropped about 13 degrees in five minutes. i guess we are lucky it didn't produce a tornado.

I would never pay that much for a club, but I do play Don White (now Scratch's lead clubmaker) design MacGregor MT Pro forged wedges, and really like his grinds - I assume they would be similar grinds, and if they are hand forged then even better. Anyone who made clubs for Nicklaus is good enough for me.

I was given a set by Notah B end of last year, I work with him and his manager and they have been after me for years to give me a set.

Calaway Tour Driver + 3 wood
3 tour model hybrids, 18, 21 and 24 deg
X22 Tour irons

I absolutely love the woods and hybrids.

Not sold on the X22's yet. I hit them fine but just not feeling it. I was playing Cleveland TA3's and they are butter. Ball just explodes and great feel. I can work the ball both ways. I'm going to give them some time and if they don't work, sell them. If I get a new set it's going to be the Mizuno's muscle back forged.

Heading back out to the range tonight. Glad the weather is finally cooperating.

As far as wedges go you cannot go wrong with the Clevelands or Volke's. Why re-invent the wheel when they are as good as you are going to get and they are proven???

I had my first ever hole in one this morning. 185yds 5 iron. I hit it as pure as the driven snow. Right after I made contact my buddy said "MONEY" as it was heading toward the green. When it landed, it landed about 20 ft short and about 10 feet to the right of the flag. It bounced and started tracking to the pin, then I lost it. I just figured it was behind the flag or something. When I turned and looked at my buddy, he threw his hands up and hollered. I said, "no way" and he said it was in. I was so pumped. We walked up there and sure enough it was sitting in the bottom of the hole. It was on the 8th hole, and we were so excited we called it a day and went drinking after we finished 9. People thought we were crazy because we were drinking at 9am on a Sunday... haha. I've been playing for about 19 years, and getting a hole in one has been a big goal of mine. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited. I guess I should have bought a new set of irons sooner! (just put a new set of Titleist's in the bag last weekend)

Congrats man. :banger: I've never had one. Rimmed out, ran over, stopped short on the lip...but never an Ace. I had a 185 yard 5 iron for a two on a par four, but that is not the same as an actual HIO.

You Sir, are THE MAN!:groove2:

I assume you are buying a round for BP, and the vbar is open at the vclub?

Lucky bastard.

Anyone have any suggestion on the best iPhone golf GPS apps? I've bene told you get what you pay for, which is fine...I will shell out for Golfshot: Golf GPS or ViewTI Golf GPS if need be. I also was looking at Executive Caddy: Golf GPS Pro ($20) and GolfLink Game Tracker and GPS ($10).
