Hit the RBZs for the first time. Here is what I got: Tour TP Driver with the HD6 shaft; Tour 3 Wood with UST Mamiya TOURSPX ATTAS Element S-flex shaft; and Tour TP 3 Rescue with an Aldila RIP shaft.

I honestly can not believe how easy all three are to hit. I tend to hook the ball, but tonight I was hitting a nice 5 yard draw. A couple of times I really tried to drop the hammer and hit a nice little fade, probably 5 yards or so.

If anyone is in the market for new Taylormade clubs, I can put you in touch with a TM rep in the Maryville area that is great to deal with. I got a great deal on these.

Picked up a Callaway Diablo Octane 3W this week with a stiff shaft. I was beating the crap out of the ball with it on the range, so I can't wait to get it on the course. I am typically a Taylor Made guy but I couldn't find a TM that I could hit this well and consistent.

Played 18 today and got it all in with only 2 holes in the rain. I hit the new Diablo very well and even hit it a couple of times off of the tee when I need to ensure I kept it in play on a narrow par 4 fairway.

All in all it was a very frustrating day though on the course. I am just not really sure where the ball is going and I am having trouble picking the ball up in the air once I strike it (God it sucks hitting the big 50) then I will have very nice swings followed by a "what the hell was that" shot.

The other frustrating part of the day was the course. I couldn't take the cart off of the path due to all of the rain that we had yesterday and they are prepping the course for fall. They took all of the GPS units out of the carts and most ball cleaners off of the course. It was difficult to know what distance to hit as the course is poorly marked for it. I am okay with courses getting ready for fall\winter, but if you are going there, then cut your price.

Anyone ever played at Fostoria Country Club/IndianBrook? I played there last weekend in a Toledo Metro golf tourney, because we were visiting my in-laws. I ended up coming in 6th, shot 77. Was only +2 thru 14 then doubled 15 after I flew the green, which was the trend for the remainder round. The greens are the only thing protecting this course, they are like postage stamp small.

As I stated in the "How does work make you feel?" thread, I have been on vacation for the past 17 days. I have played 10 rounds during my time off. It is amazing how much better my short game(especially putting) has gotten with all the rounds played.

I can play five rounds per week and my tee shot and approach shots would show negligible improvement, if any. My short game, however, improves drastically if I can play regularly. For me, though, my chipping is what improves most.

Speaking of short game, I am looking at new wedges. I want to stick with my lofts 51, 55 & 59 degrees. I want to change bounce though. I use my 59 (10* bounce) for anything close to the green unless I bump and run. I also use the 59 for greenside bunkers. Most courses I play have dense, heavier sand. Anyone have recommendations as to bounce?

I played there as it was my high school golf team's home course. Unfortunately the course has seen better days, and the greens are that were very fast and in super condition are just a memory now. I know that they also shortened the course a bit and the traps are not as deep as they used to be. The course probably plays at least 1-2 shots easier on each side now. I am kind of surprised you had that much trouble with 15, but a nice round anyway. I do remember from my high school days that you never wanted to go over the greens because they always played from back to front and the rough was always heavy back there and you had no chance getting close to the hole if you short sided yourself.....

Anybody had the DRIVER 'yips'? Hit everything well, putting is low 30's per round, but hitting the tee ball very, very badly. Shooting 87-91 on every round, but hitting about 175 off tee and right...a bunch.

Spent some serious money on lessons, pick up a few things, but putting a fix on a fix to a fix just ain't cuttin' it. Even went to a swing shrink in Hawaii, which worked for a period. I'm a fairly smart person and that, but when it comes to hitting it off the tee, I'm like a high school kid on his first date (very clumsy and unsure of oneself).

Play with a group of low handicaps (2-6), so feel a bit intimidated, and swing too hard with very little tempo. Putting (from the swing shrink) is working well, and haven't had a 3 jab for two months. Irons crisp and hit-n-hold on the green. Putting myself in position for pars, but very few birdies (mostly par 3's). Play a country club, so it's not a new track, but one that's familiar. Any thoughts?

:gobucks3::gobucks4::banger: Thanks in advance. Even called up a pro friend and told him to fix it or I'm turning my clubs into tomato stakes......

The driver yips have to suck. Didn't Hank Haney have a severe case of the driver yips? Surely he has written something about how he got over it.

The right hand hit, aka flipping, seems to always sneak back in my swing. My understanding of the full swing yips is that it is a severe flipping problem.

Yeah, not a tough course, the greens definitely slant back to front. And they had the pins in some very tough spots. One of the guys I played with (L. Martin, his son is head golf coach at UC), said he never saw such tough pins out there.

On 15, ripped it over the green and it ended up in front of the 16th tee. I had to open up my 60 and throw it up in the air to get over the pine trees.

Well, first off I would do some research on bounce and how it effects wedges. I am more of a sweeper/slider and need wedges that have very little bounce. If you take massive divots and come in steep on the ball you will want a lot of bounce.

If you are looking for wedges, I highly recommend the Vokey TVD's w/ SM4 grooves. I think I mentioned in here that I bought a 52(bent to 51), 56 and 60. All in the black oxide finish. I am a big big fan of those wedges.

Played a really nice Championship course this weekend and I must say I was very pleased with my game other than my putting. I had 4 - 3 putts, which really hurt, as I was really struggling to adjust to the pace of the greens. I was striking the ball very well though even off of the tee and was really keeping the ball in play. I tweaked my wrist a bit on an approach shot on 17 that I got a little steep on. All in all though one of the better rounds of the year.
