Nice, I have looked into that course--only problem is where it is located, in the middle of nowhere.

Very nice course, very playable, and very much in the middle of nowhere....

I might add a little pricey at $89 for twilight. There are a lot of very nice courses that you can play for that kind of money in the Gaylord and Grayling area, or over in Traverse City.

Darby,
good luck with your scramble. my advice would be to practice your short game, gap, sand, and lob wedges get them 'stiff' to the pin. Forget the booming drives (at most you're only going to need two of yours), and work on the putting. There's always someone longer in the group, but the one who can hole the ball is the real hero. 15-20 foot putts (usually for birdie) are the ones to work on. (Anything more and you guys won't be in the hunt, anything less and anyone can do it).

I've got one next Monday in a fundraiser for the local foodbank, and that's what I'm doing. Working to save pars and to make birdies. PS, let the other guys take the huge cuts on the ball, continue to swing with good tempo and do the good swing things.....you might be surprised and you'll be the longest! Enjoy these times.

Can't play at Augusta unless you're a member, which isn't easy to get a hold of...

I'm hoping to go with this approach. My iron play sometimes can be pretty good, other times sporadic. Our foursome has played scrambles before and usually I get stuck being the guy who putts last because all the other guys aren't that great at it. I'm the 2nd longest hitter in the group, and usually can hammer one out there between 290-310 most of the time (the other guy competes in some long drive stuff and can go 340 or 350 most of the time) so we let him try to bomb and the other two guys go and I'll dial down to try and get one into play. I havent played in a month and finding time to get to the course has been tough.

Played for the first time in a while yesterday. Did not get a full round in, but I was four over through 15. For some reason I typically score better when I walk, which is what I did yesterday. Very inconsistent off the tee, but I somehow kept finding the greens on my approach shots. Putted well too.

I was really working on keeping my right arm tucked and rotating through. My bad shots would occur when I would not get my right side through and I would flip the club with my right hand in a subconscious attempt to correct the swing. I have always struggled, to an extent, with flipping. Anyone have a good drill or preshot routine they do to work on getting the right side rotated through?

Anyone here play Bear's Best in Atlanta before? I'm going down there in October to meet up with a buddy and we are thinking about playing this course, but wondered how hard it really was. It's 18 of Jack's favorite holes he has every built all in one course. Two of the holes are from Muirfield as well. It sounds like an awesome concept for a course, but I feel like it would be pretty difficult.

Where do you play most of your golf in Chicago?
