THE GAME: ttun @ tOSU, Sat Nov 26, 12pm, FOX

Morning after. Still pissed off.

Ryan Day’s desire to throw the ball 40+ times a game (even in Hurricane conditions) is a clear sign that he does not have a desire to do what it takes to win The Game.
His maniacal need to make his QB check with him after every play call so Day can call the audible bothers me. Does your QB have no say or control of the offense?
My biggest concern was that we watched OSU torch Don Brown’s defense for years only for OSU to hire a DC who runs the exact same defense scheme. Ok..?
Sure the DB play has been trash most of the year. But continuing to leave them on islands was madness. scUM isn’t changing the way they play offense. If Day is still the coach the results of this game aren’t changing.

finally, CJ’s comment that this game doesn’t define him or this team is a clear indication that Day still has no clue how to emphasize the importance to his team to players not born in Ohio. He is truly lacking there. We all laugh at scUM players crying in post game the last 20 years. At least the game meant that much to them. I don’t get the feeling it means the same to OSU players any more. sure, they are mad/sad that they won’t win the B1G or make the playoffs. But that’s all that’s really bothering them. Go search on Twitter any player who has played here in the last 20 years and read what they are saying about the 2022 Buckeyes.

The morning after. Hangover thoughts and 2 yr hindsight: Team lacks passion and true leadership. Lacks players and coaches who truly "get" The Game and the rivalry. Keep your 5 stars and give me a local coachable 3 star with passion. Plenty of talent in Ohio
Certainly need more Ohio kids I agree...feels like we did that on the OL at least this year. Another thing with Ohio kids is they're probably less likely to transfer. We should still shoot out shot for the Downs of the world but for example there's no need to go after that DE from Indiana who's committed to LSU. Is he that much better than another defensive line player from Ohio?

There's lots of opinions on our lack of leadership and fire which obviously I agree with. No idea what kind of players Kyle or Devin are but that's got to be a big upgrade next year.

I do want to point out that Dawane Jones was inconsolable after the game. I really felt terrible for him.

Coaches let these kids down. Also good point on Knowles and that's sort of bothersome to think about. Just way too aggressive yesterday.

Well, Buckos, this sucks. It's gray and rainy. My thoughts match the clouds. This is Shawn Springs slipping and Tye Shits running by him. This is Eddie George running for 150 while Bitchamafucka goes for 300. This is driving home from Pittsburgh and listening as a top ranked Buckeye team gets hammered 28 - zip. This is Woodson doing the Heisman in our end zone. This is Woody breaking the first down marker in half because the refs don't call PI. This is senior year, freezing cold in the 'shoe, and watching Michigan and a running back from my high school, Dave Fisher, grind out a 10 - zip Rose Bowl ticket. It sucks and it's going to be a long year until it can possibly stop.

I was not sure about the Knowles hiring in the beginning and I’m even less so now. I don’t see it as a fit for the teams we play. We all laughed at the BIG 12 defenses, but that’s exactly what Knowles brought here.

Unfortunately, Days unwillingness to let us see the other QBs in live game situations leave us with no idea what we have until next year, short of CJ bailing on the bowl game.

I don’t really know what to say. I had serious reservations about this defense after seeing it against PSU and Maryland; everything about it materialized. I’ve never seen such a solid start flip like a fucking sausage patty after the half to that degree.

That was just gross and I don’t think Day has the intensity to help players understand the magnitude of the game. Moreover, it’s going to be challenging this off-season to see him as anything other than a good OC/QB coach. Also, Stroud just isn’t that good; dude is clearly limited. It’s odd to me because Day has said a multitude of times about how intelligent he is but he has absolutely no autonomy at the LOS…? I don’t get it dude.

What a wasted year. The only thing worse than a hangover is one that wasn’t worth it in retrospect. I’m past anger and into depression.

The two outsider head coaches (e.g., Rich Rod, Cooper) in this rivalry that I can think of that had success in the rivalry, going back to 1951 for OSU and 1969 for scUM, were Ohio State Men - Moeller and Schembechler. Something about being genuine is required to win these games, or just an OSU pedigree. (Woody was a Denison Man; close enough.)
