Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

Well, it's tough to be the best athletic department in the best university in the best city in the best state in America while having a profound sense of entitlement that it's their manifest destiny to challenge for the NC every year....................yet on the field having only been truly relevant for one 5 year window over the last 36 years.

Somebody will need to get kicked in the balls.

I said the same thing last night. They have been relevant maybe 5 years of my entire adult life and one night back in the 90s when they beat Nebraska. Yet they throw "blue blood" around like they've been a top 5 program for 20 years in a row...

Charlie Strong gets his next Bridgewater, flips QB from FSU to Texas

Texas head coach Charlie Strong is doing all he can to rebuild the Texas football program, and now he may have his quarterback to get things going. Kai Locksley switched his commitment from Florida State to Texas, giving Strong a huge recruit just days before National Signing Day.

Locksley, the son of Maryland assistant coach Mike Locksley, is a four-star recruit according to Rivals. The recruiting service labels Locksley an athlete, but he is expected to play quarterback for the Longhorns. Locksley had committed to the Seminoles last July, but with a crowded quarterback position in Florida State’s recruiting class and in Tallahassee, it was likely one quarterback was going to pursue a different route. This turned out to be Locksley, who now will have a chance to step in early and have an impact in Austin as Strong attempts to revive the program.

Interesting, everybody offered this kid. Wonder why he didn't got to Maryland, hope it wasn't because he didn't like the coach that was recruiting him there.8D

Anyway he is probably a good pickup for Texas as a replacement for Gentry especially since sons of coaches are usually fundamentally sound players, etc.

How he fits at Texas: Locksley is the best QB I’ve personally seen in the 2015 class. He’s long, like VY, and he can take choppy steps and then use long strides to suddenly cover big stretches of grass and pull away from people. VY did this as well, calling it the “Texas 2-step.”Unlike VY, Locksley has a fantastic release and throwing motion. He has a great deep ball as well as the ability to throw on the run. If Watson wanted to evolve his multiple West Coast system to include the QB run game, as we all hope he does, there’d be no better prospect to take than Locksley. – IB

I like this kid a lot, only a plus that he is a coach’s son. I think he is going to be stud wherever he goes. Has great ball placement, puts it only where his receivers can catch it. Has good arm strength and I don’t see any glaring mechanical flaws. Very comfortable throwing the ball on the run and makes it look easy at times. He is a true dual threat, reminds me of Terrelle Pryor (refusing to make the Vince Young comparison) when he runs it, tall with long strides which eats up yards in a hurry. Displays a great burst and is very elusive in open field. This kid is going to be a star wherever he endsup; there is so much to love about his game. I can see this kid blowing up the college football world in 2-3 years. Him and Kyler Murray are 1A and 1B for me right now.

The shag is so desperate for any QB not named Swoopes, that they've done gone full retard. Comparing him to the two biggest freak athletes to play CFB in the past decade.
