OSU players and coaches aren't going to whine in a presser, it's not their style. Now OSU fans on an OSU message board can whine all they want.
You come over to an Ohio State board under the veil of "good game buckeyes" while taking subtle jabs at our coach. We aren't stupid. We know what you are trying to do. It will be interesting in the future when violations arise at Arkansas....because they happen everywhere...and now that you guys are relevant for the first time in 20 years, you will be under the microscope as well. Hell, you just got off of a 3 year probation in 2006.

While there are many on BP that may question his coaching decisions on the field, there is not a one of us that would question the man's integrity or what he means to this university. After everything he has done for this program, this university and the kids he has coached, he doesn't need to answer to you, me or the media for the reason why he let those 5 play.

Absolute bull [Mark May]. Every coach, at every program, is always answerable at all times for every aspect of their program. That is why they earn an astoundingly high salary. They are always accountable. They are accountable to the fanbase of the program that they represent, and they are accountable for the public perception of their actions to the general public and press.BuckNut65;1851382; said:After everything he has done for this program, this university and the kids he has coached, he doesn't need to answer to you, me or the media for the reason why he let those 5 play.
Mackenstein;1851376; said:Just to clear the air before I take my leave of this fine forum [no sarcasm intended], I want to restate my respect for your program. There was no veiled intent any any form. I also know you folks are not stupid, but you did read something into my post that was not intended. My jab at Tressell was a heck of a lot lighter than what many of your own fans posted on here, and not my main point. I think he caved under the pressure, but I'm sure many other coaches would have done the same. What I think of him is not one ounce relevant to your program. None of you give a rat's for what I think and that's the way it should be. As far as the cheap shots, I simply disagree. Football's a rough game and you're going to get hit legally and illegally in the knees. That hit was legal whether you liked it or not.
Good luck next year and in the future. Hmmm, was I too passive aggressive in this post,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

1.) Jesus he was fired up....play selection doesn't seem to match that though.
2.) He said ass.....TWICE! :p
3.) Yes...sir. If that isn't a sign of respect, I don't know what is. Hearing them say that is enough for me to believe the tat 5 will keep their word.
crackheadstein;1851263; said:It's guys like you, that don't know the rules, that make unsubstantiated accusations, that litter our message boards in Arkansas. There was not one comment by an Ohio State player or coach, in any media article that mentioned cheap shots at the bottom of a pile. Just because you say it on a message board doesn't make it true. Now, were there some? I don't know. I do know that I was at the bottom of some of those piles when I played, and it happens. But I don't suppose a Buckeye has ever done that.
You can't even be gracious in a win. You have to bad mouth the other team. Like I said, your kind litters our board as well.
good point. after all, it's not as though the guy who "cheap-shotted" heyward hasn't already been caught executing illegal blocks that appear to be more about injuring an opponent than clearing a play.Mackenstein;1851223; said:And, for the several knuckleheads who posted we 'cheap-shotted' Heyward- It ain't illegal to hit a d-lieman below the waist if he's not engaged with another defensive player,,, a la chop block. The announcers did not make a big deal out of it because there was none to make.
