Game Thread Sugar Bowl: tOSU vs Arkansas, Tue, Jan 4th, 8:30 ET ESPN

We'll have a specific game thread created once the matchup is set - which should simply require Auburn beating S Carolina in Atlanta.

In the meantime, I've changed the thread title so that there's a spot for the Razorback fans to talk about their team and about a potential matchup with tOSU.

Welcome to BP!

Hey guys, I'm not here to flame.

I'm really looking forward to the matchup between the two teams.

I watched the Miami game and a few minutes here and there through out the season but I don't know a lot about OSU.

I was in Dallas for other reasons and checked out the Aggy game for fun. Your fans were "hog" wild, and the coeds weren't bad, either. :wink2:

Welcome to BP!

You will find this board has, imo, the most educated and reasonable posters out of all the various Buckeye sites.

Should things work out that we play each other, what's your take on the game?

:osu:

First, I'm looking forward to playing a great program.

As long as Auburn wins then this will be our first BCS game and the thought of playing UConn isn't at all appealing.

We've played well against great opponents. I think we've played 6 teams that are currently ranked in the top 25 and beat 4 of them.

We've moved the ball with ease against good defenses and don't know much about OSU's D. I understand you guys are a top 5 passing D so that should be a fun match up.

We've had trouble against running quarterbacks and I'm interested to see how much that will come to play.

Welcome to BP. I think you'll find that our reputation as a fanbase is pretty exaggerated. We're welcoming as long as you have a good head on your shoulders, which you appear to have. :tongue2:

I'm looking forward to this matchup, assuming it happens. I have some questions about our pass defense. I'm a little more critical of this year's defense than most are. Seems like we get beat more than we should, but we just haven't paid for it yet. I hope we never do. We have some studs at all positions, except safety. Players to watch on D - Cameron Heyward, John Simon, Ross Homan, Chimdi Chekwa. We have playmakers at all positions, but those are the big names.

Our offense is really good when it's clicking on all cylinders. We have a stable of backs, but Boom Herron has been taking the majority of the carries lately. And he's responded well to the additional workload, topping 175 yards a couple times and scoring some big TDs. TP is TP. He'll make some unbelievable plays, but he still has some work to do. When he's on, he's ridiculous. It's been rumored that he's playing through an injury, so the break until the bowl game should be enough to get him healthy. Our o-line has its ups and downs, but it has been better lately. Mike Adams graded out a winning performance against Iowa's beastly DE Clayborne. Key players on offense - TP, Boom Herron, Dane Sanzenbacher. The o-line is the key, like always.

Our special teams started the year about as bad as I've ever seen a team's special teams start. They've been better lately.

That's my quick summary of our team. I don't know anything about Arkansas other than Ryan Mallet is an ex-Wolverine and he needs to be punished.

Hello, guys. Just wanted to say I'm looking forward to the possibility of playing yal. I plan on making the trip down to New Orleans. Excited that I get to do so and meet a classy fan base as oppose to what we are use to with some of the teams in our conference.

Yep. Hawg.

Oh how I wish we would've played yal this year.

I actually wasn't referring to Florida because I've never had a problem with any of your fans. Even friends with a few.
 Well, if you had....yal would have beaten us

Welcome aboard piggy. I was glad to see you beat LSU. My long time boy scout dad buddy is a hawg - married to an LSU fan - with two LSU boys. :shake:  Poor dude.
