It's guys like you, that don't know the rules, that make unsubstantiated accusations, that litter our message boards in Arkansas. There was not one comment by an Ohio State player or coach, in any media article that mentioned cheap shots at the bottom of a pile. Just because you say it on a message board doesn't make it true. Now, were there some? I don't know. I do know that I was at the bottom of some of those piles when I played, and it happens. But I don't suppose a Buckeye has ever done that.

You can't even be gracious in a win. You have to bad mouth the other team. Like I said, your kind litters our board as well.
We choke slam bitches.

According to AtO, the "ass" count is at four.
From what I can make out..

Where are my special teams? You guys are working your asses off ..inaudible.. asses off..

Offense - no mistakes. punch em and daze em? you want to daze em? right now ..inaudible.. this is our chance. You want to give them some hope? Go 3 & out. Thats 3 of em! ..inaudible.. ass whipped.

30 minutes. fight hard. preapre (play?) hard. ..inaudible.. BCS game. .....inaudible..... you understand? yes sir. Sideline, you understand? YES SIR.

I've always imagined Coach being very intense & focused behind closed doors. Very cool to get a glimpse of this halftime speech.

"..Perfect special teams.Defense keep playing your ass off..offense no mistakes..you want to punch em and daze em..if you want to daze them..this is our chance..you want to give some hope? Go three and out. That's real. You got to go after their ass with it.
You got 30 minutes..30 minutes, fight hard, prepare hard, and it comes down now the way it should in a BCS game..the way it should..good ass teams, two good ass teams for over 30 minutes..does everyone understand? {Team: Yes, sir}."

Yo, Mackenstein, I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but Coach Tressel is one of the best coaches of all time. One of the best coaches of all time!

Having said that, the OSU reputation isn't quite as pristine as what the Buckeye fan likes to think it is.

From Woody to Maurice to Troy to Terrell, the Buckeye program has had it's share of issues, and Coach Tressel isn't exactly Jesus Come Back To Save Us All.

I'm glad the Tattooed Five played. I wouldn't have wanted to either win or lose against OSU without them playing, but playing them does have consequences toward the OSU reputation. And if you'll take off your Buckeye tinted glasses, it's pretty obvious what they are.

Has that been denied here? Christ, I think the point of this entire recent fiasco is oversaturation from the media, ESPN, and now other fans coming here to remind us of the fact. Yes, I separated media and ESPN.

We know. Nobody condones what they did. It has been dissected on this site from every angle...from sympathy to rage.

However, as stated, it is ironic when SEC/SWC fans come to BUCKEYEPLANET to tell us about reputations...

Really. That ironic [censored]ing match isn't for BP.

Its over...we are moving on. Yes we know what happened, but if folks really think it is just going to be constantly rubbed in our faces, they have the wrong site.

As a Buckeye fan who wasn't thrilled that they were playing let me ask: why does our reputation take a hit here? tOSU self reported & suspended these 5 from the game - the NCAA stepped in and ruled them elgible.

If Troy gives us a bad name, so be it. Troy is the perfect example of why these young men deserve second chances, IMHO.

Clarett is what it is.. Happy to see Mo turn his life around and our dirty, cheating, sweater-vest wearing, chest-bumping coach help him find his way.

Frankly, I don't give a fuck what the rest of the country thinks at this point, especially after watching this latest issue unfold in the media while all these other schools get free-passes.

Whats the saying? Haters gonna hate.

I'll keep my glasses on.

I certainly wasn't trying to rub anyone's face in anything. I've been a model citizen around here.

But when dumbass hogfan said something that touches a nerve, the immediate comeback is "oh yeah, what about Bobby Petrino!!??!"

I'm just as tired of that as you guys are about tattoos. I've touched on the Bobby Petrino deal once or twice, but no one here wants to hear it. It's too easy to believe the meme. The meme perpetrated and perpetuated by the very same ESPN you just disowned as being legitimate media.

I know this is your house and all, and for you guys it's fair game to say anything you want about anyone you want - and you guys do a very good job of it. Y'all talk shit about anyone and everyone.

Respect is a two way street.

If hogfan is being a dumbass troll, bust him out, beat him down, ban him or whatever. But the retort "oh yeah, what about you!?!" is weak if you are trying to live up to the reputation you claim as a group of fans.

If you're going to claim 'second chances' for your guys, extending them to others seems...

Fair.

For some reason your post made me think of this.

Nope. You didn't...and as you and I have talked, you have been a solid poster.

However, I'm not sure about my "immediate reaction to anything that touches a nerve". It is weak to point out the obvious irony of statements?

Sorry, I didn't roll over to Hogville, register an account, then proceed to hammer Bobby Petrino. Your 'troll' went out of his way to do so here.

Your comparison doesn't float in this instance.

However, instead of giving you the history of this site and the folks who keep it rolling, I'll simply agree to disagree here.

Fair enough.

And for the record, Hogville is a cesspool of idiocy.

(Of the first 4) Which BCS bowl had the best ratings?

ESPN jubilant at low BCS ratings

Predictably, BCS viewership fell for the Rose (14 percent), Fiesta (30 percent) and Orange (22 percent) Bowls from the games that played in the comparable time slots last year. The Sugar Bowl on Tuesday reversed the trend, with a 25 percent gain in Ohio State?s 31-26 win over Arkansas. Despite three out of four bowls losing viewers from last year, ESPN is jubilant. Each news release trumpets their place in cable history: the Rose?s audience was the third largest in all of cable history; the Orange?s was ESPN?s ?fourth-highest-rated and second-most-viewed non-N.F.L. game telecast,? and the Sugar?s was ?ESPN?s second-highest-rated and second-most-viewed non-N.F.L. game.? ESPN does not have to beat past broadcast numbers to succeed. It is ESPN. It is its own gigantic if insular universe, where the past (if it?s not its own) matters very little. Leagues and governing bodies rush to ESPN for its money and its myriad media platforms. After the Rose and Fiesta results were in, Burke Magnus, ESPN?s senior vice president for college sports, said in an interview: ?We?re pleased with these numbers, and with three more B.C.S. games to play we?ll stack up well and the broadcast-to-cable comparisons will not matter. There?s no broadcast-to-cable case to be made.?
