Star Wars (May the Force be with you)

I liked that reboot quite a bit, but neither as much as fringe. The wife really liked revolution and while I haven't seen it, folks lost their minds over lost.

The first three seasons of Fringe is probably my favorite television over the past decade. The first three seasons of LOST were like that as well, but the last three--especially the last one--has tainted that entire series for me. I thought the idea behind Revolution had great potential, but it suffered from poor writing, bad casting of a central character (i.e. Charlie), and an identity crisis of not knowing exactly what type of show it wanted to be.

Let me preface my review by saying I liked the original Star Wars but wasn't a huge fan like some people. I have enjoyed most the work JJ Abrams has done especially the Trek movies. I am also in my 20s.

This was the best movie I have ever seen (barely beating out Clockwork Orange and some others). I had expectations that it'd be below average and this sucker blew my mind. A must see in theatres for sure.

Daisy Ridley is a smoke show

I bought the star wars digital movie bundle on Amazon. Watching it with my kids, started with Phantom Menace. Good Lord this movie is worse than I remember. And I remember it being bad.

I've heard it's best to start with 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6 so that you don't blow the Vader is Luke's father twist. You could also sub this for the first 3 movies:

Going Christmas Day with the daughter & s.i.l. Only spoiler I've really seen regards cinnabuns.

Re: the several references above to Fringe--missed that one in its original airing somehow. Have been marathoning it on Netflix for about a week. Like it a lot (maybe because Walter and I have a few things in common.).

It kinda depends on her age, too. We took our daughter to see Princess Bride when she was about 6 or 7. Never saw her so bored by a movie. She hated it. It's now one of her favorite films, so much so that she paid a dressmaker to recreate one of the costumes for Halloween a few years ago.

She's almost 5. I know it's young but I figured most of the violence in Star Wars was laser based and not gory so there's that. It's not like she picked up on the "incidental incestuous" vibe of the original trilogy so that kind of stuff will go over her head.
