Star Wars (May the Force be with you)

Why wait until Christmas or new years to talk spoilers? Why not make a new thread with "spoiler" displayed in the name of the thread? And then merge after Christmas or new years.

Or maybe avoid the thread until you get off your ass and go see it instead of telling other people on the Internet they're not allowed to discuss something in the thread you know is for the discussion of the thing you don't want spoiled for yourself?

to discover that Han was actually Lumpy's father.

I'm fairly open-minded about other people's choices, but dating outside of your species...I dunno.

Did you post this and then fix the spoiler tag? Because if not, these spoiler tags do NOT keep your first line from appearing on bp spy.
I posted my message outside of the spoiler tag on accident at first. Fixed it 5 seconds later though, so not sure why it would have shown up. Maybe BP spy doesn't do well when a post is edited? I'm showing my post only having "Who is..." in the tag.

Ok, just making sure that the spoiler tag wasn't failing to work. In this case, you failed (briefly). I'm not real worried about your post, rather the functionality of the site, which seems to be fine.

When you go back to bpspy after editing a post, it shows the new version. Obviously it loaded the first version instantly for me.

It's surprising though that I changed it to the correct format seconds after I posted and you saw it 25 minutes later.

Edit: oh, are you saying even with a spoiler tag the first line comes through Spy? So protocol would be to have the first line to be blank or jibberish?

I usually leave bpSpy open, thus I saw it. Going to test the system now.

Spoiler tags work when used properly. Everything posts instantly to bpSpy, so there's no opportunity to fix it quickly. That will only save people who don't have bpSpy open already.

Just got back. The wife got me an early Christmas present to see it on the ultrascreen in 3D (still not sold on that) in the recliners (pretty sweet). She's a keeper :)

As always, JJ Abrams is a brilliant man. The movie was not an all-time great but it was pretty darn good and comes well recommended. Most important of all, it captured the essence of the force and showcased everything that has captivated many generations (even with a long layoff and botched prequels).

p.s. The nerd out factor was pretty high when the movie uses the same sounds and "maps" from the Battlefront video game.
