5 of us, $20 each, person who loses the biggest percentage of weight between now and Christmas wins

I wasn't part of the spring weight loss drive... however I did need to lose some weight.

In the spring I switched from regular coke to diet coke (I drink two to three cans a day)... I also started a light exercise routine (run/power walk/jog two miles, three times a week). Those two lifestyle changes dropped my weight by roughly ten pounds by the time mid summer hit.

I then hit a plateau and wasn't putting weight on, however I wasn't losing weight either.

In the middle of October (actually Mon. 10/17/05 to be exact) I decided it was time to move on to the "next step" in my weight loss quest. After talking to a friend who lost near 100 pounds in a little over six months (started out at a huge number and is now "down" to a big number... on a percentage scale the lose wasn't as big as it sounds) on weightwatchers I decided to sign up.

Since joining weight watchers I've dropped another 20 pounds in about 2.5 months... The weight watchers system works (although the first two weeks suck, until your stomach shrinks and you are used to not eating as much as you had in the past). If anybody wants to lose weight, as long as you follow the rules you will lose weight on their system...

I continue my quest... through the last nine months I've lost roughly 30 pounds (it really started to come off during the last 2.5 months though)... just figured I'd share my experience for those that have some type of a new years resolution with weight control...

good work! I did WW a few years ago, stuck to it and lost about 25lbs then started working messed up hours, fell off and got fat again.

i'm starting out at 278.5lbs and i want to finish and maintain a weight of 197-203. I'm eating much less and much better food, as well as working out on the tredmill and the total gym (bought it for my wife a few years ago, she likes it, and it works pretty well)

my wife did weightwatches a few years ago and I ended up doing it by default... it worked for us then and we are starting back up on it Wednesday. I need to drop a lot pounds... it will be a long process.

Yeah, I'd like to get back down to around 200 - 210 pounds too, but that ain't likely to happen pal.

Iam - That is great you are taking control. That little girl of yours wants you around as long as possible.

Shrinking the stomach is interesting. I read something recently that in less than a month you can shrink your stomach by a third. Cutting back serving sizes and snacks reduced my stomach.

I think the key is finding out what works best for you. WW sounds like it did the trick before so it may be worth doing it again. The diet is key and exercise speeds up the weight loss.

Good luck!
