Spring Weight Loss Drive

For more motivation, watch the movie SuperSize Me.

That's enough to keep you away from McDonald's for a long time.

Just saw that tonight. You are not kidding. My wife and I were joking about hopping on the treadmill right afterwards. That is amazing the changes his body made. I loved the look on the dietician's face at his first weigh-in.

Just a bunch of really interesting stuff. I love how the one salad had more calories than a Big Mac.

Hahah I saw this thread and had to laugh...... Good work for all you trying to get healthier.. It is a bitch huh, but well worth it. I am doin git myself for the first time. I was in a serious car accident and was not able to work out at all for 18 months!!!!!! Needless to say Pizza, wings, beer, Buckeye/Steeler games did not help and my ass got FAT!!!!! I need to lose like 50-60 lbs but I know I can(am doing it). So hope you are all sticking with it, if not keep on keeping on.

One thing I have noticed... It is so much harder to be dedicated to a diet when you are getting laid on a regular basis because frankly if you still look good to the ladies why bother right, well that is something I have noticed :-)

Well, since summer is over I figured I would report in. My goal was to lose 20 pounds. I have managed to lose 15 and would like to lose another 10. Fortunately, I am consistently running and eating better, I just need to really kick my butt in gear to get rid of the last 5 and an extra 5 pounds. I have had people recently tell me that they can tell I have lost weight.

My goal was to lose 15 pounds for the summer and quit smoking. I did both.

Now football season is here and I can get to work on the fun stuff ... putting the weight back on at the tailgates. :)

What did you do to achieve your goal BiM? What type of exercises, diet, etc. ?

It was a combo deal of diet and exercise. I sit at a desk all day so I don't burn calories like my wife does in her nursing job. Breakfast is a Slimfast, lunch is yogurt and snacks during the day are usually apples and bananas. I also cut back my pop intake to one diet Coke a day. The rest of the drinks are water or Crystal Light lemonade, which I have liked for a long time. The Slimfast isn't too bad as it is full of fiber and really fills you up. Also, I like lighter lunches anyways so I am not so tired in the afternoon.

Exercise is running 3 miles 3-4 times a week. I screwed up my back last year and my exercise options became walking and running. No more bike or weights, which I had been doing. I personally hate running, but I need to exercise and it burns more calories faster and is less boring than walking. I just hop on the treadmill and turn up the music.

PS I started this back at the beginning of summer and once I made it through the first month or so it became a habit to eat right and exercise. I still cheat on the diet, but have not broke completely from it.

That's one of my major problems, or hurdles... whatever you wanna call it. I have very little endurance when it comes to running or lifting. I've always been like that.

When I run, I am very good at sprints but terrible at a long jog or something of that sort. When lifting I get tired quickly when doing high rep/low weight sets. I'm a lot better at high weight/low rep sets and that's not ideal for what I'm trying to achieve.

Awesome job BinMich. I remember 4 years ago (Freshman year) I put on 30 pounds and was too big. I started lifting and running and haven't stopped since. I confess I am much more regular with the lifting though. Eating wise, I've found that turkey sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, protein shakes, etc... are great for your physique, along with taking vitamins.

Congrats and keep it up :)
