This space should be used to quote someone like Ben Franklin or any other historical intellectual. That way people will respect your thoughts and ideas on the recuiting of 17-18 year old boys. Everybody will be in owe of you brain powers.

Your sig line made a humorous point, goodguy, but you lost all momentum at the end with "owe" in place of "awe" and "you" in place of "your". It is also ironic that you are somewhat tongue-in-cheek in your mockery of following the recruiting of teenage "boys," while at the same time asking for more morsels of insight into recruiting on another thread. I just had to address it all.

Oh, and back on topic....Florida is so fast that they actually catch the rabbit on the greyhound track.

By the way someone of you are down on Herbie, but if you listen to 1460 you will hear him sarcastically hype the "Florida Speed". He's tired of the SEC speed hype as well.

True, its pretty obvious when you listen to him were he stands. The sarcasm is dripping from his "SEC speed" comments. Its really hilarious!

Pete Fiutak at CFN has this to say about speed:

But there?s still no excuse for only running Jorvorskie Lane twice ? A pot of fancy jam goes out to Miami for once again proving that there?s a difference between playing fast and being fast. All off-season, all we had to hear about was how fast Florida was compared to Ohio State, when in reality, the Gators executed better, had a superior gameplan, and flew around with more energy. Does anyone out there ever think Miami can?t run? Of course not, so then why did the Canes look so slow in the 51-13 loss to Oklahoma? OU played better than Miami, and Miami made Texas A&M look like it was running in mud by playing faster on the lines and executing better. All teams in the top 25 can run fast 40 times, last year's Ohio State team could run with anyone, but that doesn't always matter. Remember this the next time someone spouts about a team being better because of its wheels.

SEC Speed

Well it's obvious that SEC speed is dominating the bowls. The way that Tennessee was able to blow the doors off a slow, plodding Wisconsin team made the speed differential obvious. If P.J. Hill had had SEC speed he would have taken the ball to the end zone twice, but because he didn't he had to settle for 100+ yards. Then Florida used their speed to dominate Michigan until they tired of playing with the Wolverines and let them win the game so that foolish Yankees will continue to spend tons of money on Southern winter vacation sites during bowl season.

At least Georgia didn't screw around Hawaii. And then they had the chutzpah to claim #1 status! Now that's Southern Speed, Bull shit at mach 2!

Nah, USC is the new speed team. It's time for the yearly " USC is the best team" articles to start. I saw one on CBS already. Of course. they may be the current best........but............Stanford!

Georgia looked good, especially the black unis.

I now believe that all thing being equal, the team most disrespected wins. See last Jan, this Jan, and the mutts tonight. They were on a mission. Sitting at four and being jumped after 1 and 2 go down pissed em off. And while I think that y'all have a better offense, and statistically better defense, they seemed to hit and wrap up very well on D, pass rush, etc. I dunno, but as much as I hate them, they impressed me tonight....and not just because the Warriors suck.

They have steadily improved all year, and have the beef at DT that some SEC schools ::cough cough:: lack.

I am really waitin to read some articles addressing the scUM and Wiscy games yesterday. If the Big 10 is SO down and the SEC is just heads and shoulders above everybody else, then why did 2 Big 10 teams outplay 2 SEC teams yesterday? Wiscy shot themselves in the foot, or they win, scUM could have beaten Florida by about 30 if not for them making mistakes.......

SC, UGA, and Okie are, in my opinion, the best 3 teams this year. The year absolutely screams playoff, as it was close to impossible to figure out who to put in the title game.

Oh and I did love seeing Hawaii get smacked to shut the media up over their 12-0 season, beating teams like Zanesville, Canton, Marietta, and Youngstown

Did they beat Zanesville?

In OT.

I hate playing the transitive game, but:

We beat Wisconsin by 21, who lost to Tennessee by 4, who lost to LSU by 7. Advantage us by 10.
We beat Michigan by 11, who beat Florida by 6, who lost to LSU by 4. Advantage us by 13.

We should win by anywhere from 10 to 13 points. Chew on that, DBB...

Here's my transitive analysis...

IF

...the same OSU team that played the 4th quarter against Wisconsin shows up,

AND

...the same LSU team that played the first 3 quarters against Tennessee shows up,

THEN

...LSU will get drilled like a bad tooth.

Those big "ifs" are not the only problem with transitive analysis, but they may be the biggest.

if the LSU team that played VA TECH shows up vs any OSU team then LSU wins by 20

im sick of all the media making us(SEC) seem so fast. i think imho that sec teams maybe are a little faster acroos the board but like scUM showed us all it dont mean dooodly squat when you work the line of scrimmage like they did.
if OSU does that vs LSU we may be in trouble because our so called speed advantage wont mean shit when our qb is
running for his life. so basicly im saying even if we(LSU) are a little quicker i dont think were any stronger and this game will be won by whoever controls the line on both sides of the ball
