So...do you believe in "Northern Power" or "Big Ten Power"?

Yeah, sounds like bullshit to me also.

Didn't you think that Ohio State was much faster than the Big Ten teams it played? I did. Michigan is the other team that is fast on both sides in the Big Ten. And Ohio State is faster than Michigan at several skilled positions. I'm not saying Ohio State is slow; I am saying the Big Ten is. Think of all the plays that Ohio State made throughout the season just due to speed. And think of all the lopsided scores.

Maybe its already been asked but have the SEC types forgotten we played Texas this year, or is southwestern speed different from just regular southern speed?

I ask because I keep seeing people say UF will be the fastest team we play this year and am just wondering if I'm the only human being on the planet that thinks UT can put athletes on the field with anyone?

Texans eat beans which makes them slower.

I think Michigan's receivers are pretty fast, but they lacked speed in their secondary's depth chart. (As do we and Florida, IMO)
We beat Texas and Michigan both in large part because they couldn't cover all of our receivers. I don't really see that being different with Florida.
In fact, the longer I look at this game the more it seems at least a little similar to Michigan. You've got good depth at WR, a dependable QB, and a stout run defense with a freak in the secondary.
While with ttun we had to keep honest because of Hart running, we'll have to keep honest against Florida because of the trick plays. I'll be surprised if Tebow comes into this game and doesn't throw a couple of times... Urban could easily school the offense up on some new plays for Tebow that will exploit the perceived tendency for him to just run.

I think what you are seeing is that the lower tier teams in our conference aren't as fast as the elite teams simply due to not having the overall depth of talent we do. Guess what, its like that in every conference in America.

OSU gets better recruits year in and year out than anyone but scUM in the B10. Texas and OU do the same in the B12, USC and USC in the Pac10. FSU and Miami will be back and dominate the talent hoarding in the ACC. The SEC just has more teams that keep each other equal, there is no dominant 1 or 2 teams. That DOESN"T mean the top teams from the other confernces can't handle "SEC speed" it means the bad teams from those confrences aren't usually as good as the bad teams from the SEC although the difference isn't nearly as large as SEC fans like to think. Conference strength is a very cyclical thing and this year no one is debating the SEC was much tougher top to bottom. That really doesn't concern us. We aren't one of the bad teams.

The team UF is playing on Jan 8th has as much team speed, athleticisim and talent as anyone in the country. The difference UF fans better start worrying about is on special teams, at head coach and most especially at QB.

pace was 6 7 330ish the day he walked on to campus. the term pancake was invented as to give him a stat to push his heisman campaign. i dont know about his 4.7 speed. i do know it was not odd to see him running downfield past guys while he went and pancaked a second guy. he was unreal to say the least. stringer himself was something special, but hicks and pace were in thier own world...

edit since were on it greenies to the guy who names paces hs number... oh and thrown in the school (thats easy)

I wish I would have seen this earlier. I saw Pace play against my HS hoops teammate and scUm alumn, Charles Woodson when Sandusky played Fremont Ross. Any greenies still up for grabs?

i dont think its really an issue at all really. they have some decent speed but i think the analysts know florida has no advantage so they just bring up the BS southern speed myth to keep the nation happy on a supposed advantage florida might have on us.
