im sick of all the media making us(SEC) seem so fast.

BP's server is on the verge of exploding trying to process this paradox.

if the LSU team that played VA TECH shows up vs any OSU team then LSU wins by 20...

If that VT team showed up every week, they would not have won a ballgame.

No, no, no...

That was the real VaTech; LSU is just that much better than everyone else. Even Louisiana school-children know that. Nevermind the fact that no one apart from Louisiana school-children "know" it.

Nope.

He is saying the speed thing is overblown by the media but he does think that the entire conference is likely faster than most top to bottom.

I'd agree with him there...

Have to agree with grad on this one. He said the SEC is "a little faster". That is a very far cry from what the media say about SEC speed.

im sick of all the media making us(SEC) seem so fast. i think imho that sec teams maybe are a little faster acroos the board but like scUM showed us all it dont mean dooodly squat when you work the line of scrimmage like they did.
if OSU does that vs LSU we may be in trouble because our so called speed advantage wont mean shit when our qb is
running for his life. so basicly im saying even if we(LSU) are a little quicker i dont think were any stronger and this game will be won by whoever controls the line on both sides of the ball

Va Tech isn't that good.

In fact, Kansas (WHO SHOULD'VE PLAY UGA) will beat the shit out of Va Tech.

Slow down... my northern eyes can't keep up with the speed of your typing. :tongue2:

Totally agree that whichever team wins the trenches will most likely win the game.

Does anyone here seriously believe that teams like Northwestern and Minnesota have as much team speed as Ohio State and Michigan? Of course not; the primary determinant of teams' ranking within a conference is probably speed, more often than not. And the top teams among BCS conferences probably have similar team speed IMO. Certainly WVU seemed to have equal speed to Oklahoma last night.

Now, we could get into a discussion of whether Mississippi has more team speed than, say, Iowa, but who really gives a shit? The lower-tier teams in the SEC may well have more speed than the lower-tier teams in the B11 or Big 12, but I don't see that as a real issue. If the SECers wish to say that their dregs are better than our dregs, they're welcome to as far as I am concerned. (They're probably right.)
