Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Born in North Carolina. Parents divorced when i was 3, stayed with dad, mom ended up in columbus. My brother and i visited mom in columbus every summer and OSU grew on us without us even noticing. My brother is now a junior at OSU and i'll be a freshman this fall. Not a great story compared to the rest i know, but what can you do. Go Buckeyes

Ok, Now that I've irritated a few people we're like family, right? Just had some guy in a Honda mini van pass me at "The Old Blinking Light" in town. He was bearing the OSU decal on his side. WooHoo! Way to show up in Texas country 'bro!

Anywho. Was born and raised in Bellaire, Ohio. Home of Joey Galloway. Moms no each other. As a child would watch the rolled steel come out of the Benwood Steel mill still glowing red. Could be seen all the way across the Ohio River! Went to BHS, class of 70. Probably chased Grad's future Mom around! Discretion will stop there! Went to Belmont Tech and the OU branch. Computer classes or what passed for a computer back then. NCR Century 100! Got married and moved first to Akron then Connecticut. Saved up enough money to semi-retire to New Mexico........Taos! Enjoying life in the high desert. Bicycling, skiing at Taos Ski Valley and hiking. This truly is "The Wild West"!

I'll keep mine short (kind of)...
Born and raised in Logan, Ohio (1974). When I was a little kid I was working a fund raiser at our church. We were selling subs for the OSU/Mich game. I remember Earl Bruce being the coach and us getting our ass's beat by TSUN. In the third quarter I chucked a sub across the church at a Michigan fan (our bible school teacher) and walked out. Yep, old dad grounded me for that one.
Years later from 1992-1994, I was in the Air Force stationed in Yokota Japan. 18 years old and homesick as hell. We would get College football games about 2 weeks behind. I can only tell you that seeing my beloved Buckeyes take the field made me feel like I was back in Ohio with family and friends. I lived for the Buckeye football game replays. That is probably why I still bawl like a school girl everytime the Bucks take the field for the first game.

Intros are in order

Long time Buckeye....first time participant at BP. What a great site to get pumped up for the football season with other fans.

Hope to have a chance to celebrate many future OSU victories down in C-bus with some of you! Especially over the Horns.

Can anyone tell me how to get a larger jpg pic to be accepted in lieu of the helmet..... not that there's anything wrong with the helmet (Seinfeld)!

Fair enough.....

Born in the great city of Columbus, OH (a.k.a God's country). Moved to Toledo and grew up in the 'burbs. Came back and went to tOSU for a couple years before needing to transfer back to Toledo for my degree.

Best football game in the Shoe may have been when we beat Penn St the year it was snowing, sleeting, etc. back around '93. I don't think any of us had a voice when we left that game. Outside the stadium is a tie between hanging outside Hineygate in the middle of Lane Ave with 100,000 people and hanging from the balcony at the old Papa Joe's watching the sun come up on gameday against _ichigan.

Now working at Bowling Green State University as a Toledo alum and an Ohio State fan! As long as Tressel and the boys keep winning, I'll be fine.

Just remembered this thread...

I was born in 1979, in a lil town called Nerk, Ahia.

I have been a Buckeye fan since I can remember. Saturday mornings in the fall meant being with my Uncle Jeff, and my favorite cousins. As the years went on, those cousins became more like brothers to me. I always dreamed one day I would play for tOSU, but, alas, It was not meant to be. But, I figured, I could attend tOSU...no again.

Been out of High School for almost 9 years now, how the time flies. I spent roughly 3 years right out of HS traveling the country, as a merchandiser. Got to see alot of things and places I always wanted to see. But always finding myself in arguments with "the locals" about college football.

I then went on to Installing fence. I got to see damn near the whole state of OHIO. Not a bad gig. I loved the labor, and being outside in all weather.

Couldn't find a job in Nerk, so I packed up, and headed south. My dad has a place in WR, GA, and said there were jobs, so I came down here.

Not a day goes by that I don't miss being in ohio, and it hurts more than ever being away from the center of the college football universe. But thanks to BP, I am hanging on....till that great day when I move back to...

OH-IO:biggrin:

Well I'm a little different from all of you, born and raised in London, England.
I've only been a Buckeye fan for about 5 years, before that the only football I knew was NFL (that's the only football we used to see in England)
I was converted to the Buckeyes by my girlfriend and her brother who are both born and raised in Columbus, kinda got in my blood since then.

Buckeyes fans are the only football fans I've come across with the same passion for their team as we have in England for our teams,
I'm proud to call myself a Buckeyes fan these days and follow them now as much as if I'd been supporting them my whole life.

And I cannot wait to see them beat Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl!
