Shoelace and the Heisman - where's Denard finish?

All that could be true, but will he be any more durable? He's not a Timex watch (i.e. takes a licking and keeps on ticking). No matter who he is playing; after he makes a linebacker look bad on 4 or 5 consecutive plays, the next play the linebacker gets "a good shot at him" he's going to take it. That's how the game is played.

time will tell. Can't wait to find out.

That is actually a discussion about all of the injurys that occured during the previous game against Wisconsin, but believe what you want. Big difference in pointing out how injured my team is and calling a college kid a p***y.
So when somebody points out wimpy Shoelace's injury is, and what a pussy he is for sitting down for it, that's bad.
But if YOU point out how TOUGH your band is compared to a DickRod coached team, that's good.

I'm cool with that!

I'll think I'll chime in with the minority as well. If he had dislocated, or even badly jammed fingers, he may well not have been able to grip the ball. With all of the turnover problems SCUM has had this year, and in this game, he might have actually been doing what is best for his team considering his backup has been a starter in that offense.

He quit. Not saying I wouldn't have done the same thing getting pounded like that, but he quit.

If you can lift your non throwing arm to show your hand to the coach, you are ok to play. To me this is a sign that not only does Rich Rod not understand the rivalry, but neither do his players.

Please feel free to call it whatever you like, but he quit. And, a quarterback at a major football power playing in the biggest rivalry in all of sports--a player who has the chance to be part of that--shouldn't ever quit.

Perhaps I am wrong to think so, but I think he embarrassed himself, your coach, and your team.

I lost all respect for Robinson when he pulled himself from THE GAME. No sack whatsoever. The emboldened above are point on.

I know i am in the minority here, but calling the kid a pussy does go a bit overboard. RR has put that kid through physical hell this year by running him into the ground. I think Denard tapping out was basically telling RR "[censored] you buddy, I am hurt and I don't want to get killed today. I'm out."

At least that is the way I see it.

Then he should pack it up and retire.

go back to the first post in this thread. Then read it all the way till this post. See who was right and see who was wrong. I'm just saying.

wrong or right about what?

I don't need to reread a thread to tell me that QB's usually get better as they get older and mature under center. Much like Pryor is a better QB today than he was 2 years ago, I think Denard will continue to improve.

you'll also notice i'm not in the beginning of this thread because I wasn't clamoring on about him winning the Heisman either.

Denard has been a very tough, very likeable wolverine all season and a heck of a kid. Then there's the matter of being the most dynamic runner in college football as well, especially when doing so without fully executing the offense.

If he pulled himself out, which is a pretty huge IF, it is one small mark against a pretty large body of work of toughness and competing (without the whining & pouting that most QBs exhibit when things aren't going great).

So, Rich Rod did want to sing Kumbaya after all?

Have you watched the game on TV yet? They had the camera on D-Rob. He walked over to Hick Rod and pointed at his hand and said something. Then Tater Tot went back in the game.

Overall, I like Drob. He is pretty humble and a great talent. He just doesn't have a sack.

Nope. Is there something definitive or just guessing?

He had two dislocated fingers and was fumbling perfect snaps.

Most of this season suggests otherwise.

If someone finds something substantial showing that he "wussed out", then perhaps I'll change my tune.

Until then, I'm going with the other 350 hits I've watched him play through and never pouting like the other two QBs on the field saturday do occasionally (like most QBs).

If you are asking if I was on the sideline and heard Denard say "hey coach, my hand is jacked up, I can't play" then the answer is no.

Seemed pretty definitive to me, the 20 people I was watching with, and the two guys in the booth. The announcers even said, looks like Drob just told the coach he is done. They even commented that it didn't even look like he was receiving any form of treatment from the trainers. I'm planning on watching the game again tomorrow. I'll post the timestamp so you can make up your own mind.
