A lifetime ago I dated a woman from the Davis Mountains area north of the Big Bend. I never lived there, but visited a number of times and the area was beautiful. Rolling pine covered hills at about 5,000 feet elevation, dry climate and cool nights. Some of the best food I have ever eaten, tamales cooked in adobe ovens are hard to beat. However, running across angry wild pigs while on hikes was something that I had never experienced growing up in central Ohio. She dumped me, so that was that. [/blog]
