And I hear they have inside plumbing in Zanesville now!Hey man, lots of quality BPers from 43701. Ahem.
Lawton, OK is hands down the asshole of 'Merica. Even Leesville, LA beats that cesspool. Hell, I left the Field Artillery branch partly because I never wanted to go back to Lawton.

Good decision... until they send you to Fort Riley or Ft. Polk. Or maybe you could switch to the Air Force and they could send you to Minot or Greenland. Now them there's some real "down range" targets for enema insertion.Lawton, OK is hands down the asshole of 'Merica. Even Leesville, LA beats that cesspool. Not only that, but they sold Ft. Ord on the Monterrey Peninsula along with the Presidio of San Francisco. They keep all the places you wouldn't want to go on a dare.I'm always amused by how the Army does things.
Probably hundreds of bases scattered across US, Europe, and Asia... and people still stuck in 1 [Mark May]hole for 10 years.
Meanwhile Corps essentially has 3 clusters of maybe 20 bases (arguably 4 clusters with Hawaii). One cluster Cali/Ariz (Pendleton / Yuma), the 2nd in Carolinas (Lejeune / New River / Cherry Point), and the 3rd in Japan (Okinawa / Iwakuni)... yet manages to send everyone to a new place every 3-5 years whether they love it or hate it.
But did they get that fancy new dial up AOL interwebz thing yet?And I hear they have inside plumbing in Zanesville now!
I'm sure a dog's asshole has a few gorgeous hairs on it too.
Well, I branch transfered from FA to Acquisitions branch and they still sent me back to Lawton, I'm going on 10 years in this pile of [Mark May]. It's so bad I accepted an assignment in New Jersey.

Look at this glorious list of [Mark May] the Army has done to me in 11 years. Those are all PCS/Deployments not TDY. The deployments don't bother me as much as the moving every 1.2 years.
