Blue chip programs are naturally going to be at a disadvantage since they'll rarely enter the season unranked or even lowly ranked. That system does have Ohio State as the best performing power program relative to pre-season expectations.

Oklahoma taking the silver in overrated programs is about the least surprising thing I've seen in a long time. No worries--Big Game Bob will be preseason top 5 next fall, I'm sure.

Yeah that system is kind of flawed in that a team going from 25 to 15 is worth 10x the points as going from 2 to 1 and is much easier to do while also failing to account for the fact that there is much more shifting in lower ranks as well.
