man I need to look it up but I think it was the local guys (mighta been SVP) who were talking about the new coach...basically saying his interviews with the media were like an episode of Between Two Ferns... They were waiting for Zack Galifianakis to pop out... I was pretty entertained by the description.

No Chudzinski as OC, so now they're looking at Geep Chryst. Yep, the current guy behind Kap's "development" as a QB. This franchise is rudderless, and the leadership is content with a coaching staff of "yes men." 6-10, here we come!

Open a brand new stadium...torpedo your team. Brilliant!

It has that feel. Same series of lousy decisions that led to eight miserable years before they finally did something right. Looks like dark days ahead. Oh well, I barely paid attention to the NFL from 2002-10, won't be hard to do it again. Bottom line is this franchise is in much the same predicament the clowns are...bad/inept ownership. They just happened to luck into a hot, young coach in their own backyard. Then promptly chased him out of town when things got a little rough.

So, Jed...you build a beautiful new stadium, then proceed to do the following after its first season
  • Alienate fans with outrageous pricing in said stadium
  • Take to twitter to undermine your head coach
  • Fire said coach, the most successful coach your franchise has seen in over a decade after 8 years of missing the postseason, despite heavy criticism by the press and your own fanbase for your handling of the situation leading up to his dismissal. In the process you piss off EVERYBODY
  • Promise fans to do a thorough coaching search, then hire an internal "company man" who excites NOBODY outside of his own players
  • Promise to hire a top notch staff, then bring in a gaggle of mediocrity
This franchise is being run into the ground by a its petulant child of a CEO who only got the position through good old fashioned nepotism.

The way this clown show is being run, those poor players are going to be playing in a half empty stadium. The Niner forums I frequent are in a full blown, torch team HQ meltdown. Numerous people have said they will not be purchasing/renewing season tickets.

What a fucking disaster. Bang up job, York/Baalke. Bravo. York is either the most clueless dipshit in professional sports, or he's in full blown Vince McMahon "BECAUSE FUCK YOU, THAT'S WHY" mode.

And his regression coincided with them trying to make him a pocket QB behind an injury ravaged OL. The new QB coach has said that he likes mobile QBs, so maybe that means they'll let him use his legs a little more and improvise. That's where he becomes very dangerous. Not behind a porous OL trying to read a defense as the pocket collapses around him.
