Rose Bowl: USC 38, Penn St. 24 (Final)

the point is

had USC has beaten Oregon State, they wouldnt had put their fate into the hands of the voters

once you lose a game in college football its tough luck from there on out if you dont get into the title game

The point is the system is ridiculous and USC is proving it today.

The notion that voters can select the two best teams is asinine, yet we keep doing it year after year and pretend it makes sense.

After watching Okie St. and Mizzou I'm not sold on Texas (or Oklahoma) just yet. I like the Buckeye defense if they can get off the field and the O can keep them off the field.

USC on the other hand I think right now looks like about the best team in the country. They are balanced and are about 6 deep at every position. I'm amazed that they consistently blow the games they shouldn't. Fucking Oregon State put up exactly 3 pts. against Pitt and got routed by this same PSU team.

I'd love to see a USC v Florida match up. I don't think Oklahoma could hang with USC.
I'm curious to see what happens if UF routs Oklahoma. It'd be nice to see some of the shit that's been heaped on Ohio State start flowing Big Game Bob's way.

Here's a novel idea. Play the "Grand Daddy of them all" in a neutral field. Or better yet play them in a frozen stadium in the Midwest. I'll bet Petey and his golden boys wouldn't do so well.

I agree that it is bullshit that almost all major bowl games are based in SEC, PAC10, and Big 12 areas, but I don't think it would matter where this game is played, USC is just that good and I f-ing hate it.

My thoughts after watching the first half.

First, the commentary for this game is biased, embarrassing, and unprofessional.

Second, the Big Ten really needs to sit back and think about what it wants to accomplish in football. Sparty put up a bit more of a struggle than I expected and Iowa got a good win over a real bottom feeder oUSC. Wisky was an embarrassment and so is Penn State in this game.

The problem in this game begins with the line play. USC has been allowed to own the offensive line of scrimmage. The secondary is shockingly bad for Penn State, due to defensive schemes and the matchup against the USC wide receivers.

Coaching is a major problem in this game for Penn State on both sides of the ball.

There was a time when we used to feel that playing TSUN in The Game was the national championship because the Big Ten was such a tough conference and Ohio State and TSUN were its best. Now, unless there is a remarkable change over the next two years, the Big Ten may well become as irrelevant as Notre Dame very quickly.

What else are the announcers supposed to say ?? They are talking about what is happening on the field. It is not thier fault the game is so one sided. Do you think Herbie enjoys dogging the Big 10.....

As for the ND remark, yes it may be true but ... ND may well end up
tied with the entire Big 10 for bowl victories this season.

Oregon you are one of my favorite posters here but how can you say objectivley that USC is not the best team in the nation look at the facts bro...nothing more just the facts
Whether or not they're the best team in the country doesn't matter... they shouldn't have lost to Oregon State. In CFB, every game is important.., no matter how much talent you have, you shouldn't lose to Oregon State or Stanford or whomever.

I believe if you give Pete Caroll enough time to prepare for a big game he will find a way to beat you. Every big game that he has time to prepare (except a Vince Young led Texas) his team has taken care of business. He has had several weeks to get ready for PSU, had a summer to get ready for us, etc. His staff also makes great adjustments during the game. I am not a USC fan but you have to respect his program.....

Take as much out of that bowl victory as you want. Keep in mind that PSU is playing in the Rose Bowl, OSU is playing in the Fiesta Bowl, and MSU played in the Capital One Bowl. You beat Hawaii. Take credit, I'm glad our teams are good enough to be in those bowls. :)

Even with our losses, we're still more relevant.

As for the first part, they could be professional about it. They're making childish insults.
