Rose Bowl: USC 38, Penn St. 24 (Final)

Oregon you are one of my favorite posters here but how can you say objectivley that USC is not the best team in the nation look at the facts bro...nothing more just the facts

Saying USC is definitively the best team in the country makes as much sense as saying Florida, Oklahoma, or Texas are the best teams in the country. It's still subjective, until we actually have a playoff. The top teams need to play each other at the end, just like they do everywhere else.

but ou can lose to Texas an Florida to miss.... next argument please

once again

you are missing the point

once you lose in college football, you take your fate out of your own hands...........

if USC would had beaten Oregon State they would had controlled their own destiny, not the voters

Come on now BB. It's not like they talked about the allegations against Ohio State for the entire 2nd quarter or anything. And they didn't call for Tressel and Andy Geiger to be fired. Don't be so thin skinned man.

[censored]ing espin cock suckers.

Hopefully the media has learned from that fiasco. I don't wish that on any college program....

I think we get to watch all our big ten teams play USC and because they've been so one sided lately another poster said it best what do you expect Herbie/Muscburger to talk about?

Yeah it is unbiased, but only because there's not much you can really say about PSU. You can only say so much about a team thats getting killed but there's endless things you can say about a team thats playing lights out. I think back to all the times when they were giving OSU praise and we thought it was great broadcasting. Well now that we're on the other side of the coin we can't whine about it.

The problem isn't the praise, it's the insults..

Here we go with the Plus One crap. :roll2:

It would be no better than what we have now. Some years, like this one, it would appear to make sense. Other years, like 2002 and 2005, it'll look ridiculous because we already had 2, and only 2, unbeaten teams playing each other for the title.

We don't "all want to see" a Plus One, Herbie. Please speak for yourself. Some of us want to see a real playoff.

I know that some people just can't come to the conclusion that the Big 10 is not competitive with the elite teams the last couple of years, but let's all just assume that they aren't. My quesiton is this, 'Why is the Big 10 not competitive, is it coaching, is it talent, wtf is it?'

It's not talent, the Big 10 has the talent, and I can only speak from what I see from the Bucks. The Bucks are very well disciplined, like the military, structured, organized and are being taught towards becoming adults in the civilian world outside football. I believe a team like USC and a coach like PC, is all about football. He has fun practices, gets his guys out there to just play football. They are always having fun, have energy, the dancing. Pete and his staff are not conservative, JT is. Thats not a bad thing though, look at the recruiting classes we are constantly bringing in. WE'll have our time, and it's coming sooner than other think.

the USC split title talk that will probably result from this game is just ridiculous

im sure most of us can agree on that

the #5 team going all the way to #1 for beating the #6 team? I dont think so

the only team that may have any sort of legit claim for a split title would be Utah IF they beat Alabama, since they would be the only undefeated team......

I'm not really paying attention much to the announcing but exactly what insults? I'm not hearing anythign like PSU is the worst team ever etc. Could you tell me what you mean?

Surprisingly they're playing worse (esp on defense) than the buckeye's did against USC.

The Big 10 certainly does have talent, but the unfortunate lapses on the lines against non-conference teams leads me to believe that the big non-conference teams that we've played have more talent at those positions.

"Does the Big 10 get points for losing all their bowl games? (laughter)"

If the offense subs, the defense has to be given time to sub. That's why it was a penalty on USC even though PSU had more than 11 on the field at the snap.

A chance for the announcers to actually explain something, and they don't bother.
