Alright alright, fair enough.

BUT I do think that USC can be a real threat, and one worth mentioning--particularly since we play them in 2008 and 2009. Looking at the Scout top 100 list, it seems as if half the recruits always have USC as a finalist, and that worries me just a bit.

Eh, no biggie. There's always going to be a team that's nabbin up all the 5 star recruits. Florida State has been that team. Miami has.... USC is now.

I'd rather OSU beat USC when USC is strong than to fear their talent, or beat em when they suck.

Besides, 5 star recruit business is more for show than having actual meaning. Give me 20 AJ Hawk types.

Apparently my true nature as a Buckeye fan is showing through. I'm a paranoid, neurotic, Woody Allen-type guy when it comes to tOSU. I'm always worried. You should have seen me shitting my pants in 2002... :2004:

Don't worry about talent. We will never be short on it. No coaching staff in the country is better at getting a player to reach his potential than Jim Tressel and Co.

Scoutwise, I believe this team was a lot better than their title teams... yet they were very inconsistent this year. Michigan runs a very simiple offense w/ an immobile QB & has a terrible secondary to exploit. USC played well, but OSU would have given them a far better game.

I'll admit I've had the same concern as you about their roster, but have faith in Tressel's development. Texas was also greatly superior in terms of scout rankings out of HS, xrayrandy made that point exceedingly clear.

You're selling UTMNC short... :slappy:

MITCH ALBOM: Bowled over

Michigan collapses in second half against USC

PASADENA, Calif. -- Here came a linebacker. Here came a nose tackle. Here came a cornerback. Here came another linebacker.

It's supposed to be the ocean that smacks up against you in these parts, but on Monday it was the Southern Cal defense that crashed like waves against Michigan quarterback Chad Henne, over and over, chasing him, knocking him down, until you half expected some "Baywatch" lifeguard to come flying out of the stands to save him.

No such luck. Cont.

Ah yes, one of my favorite New Years traditions...kicking of the year with a scUM loss. Last year felt a little empty with them losing in December.

- S.o.S. - Same old scUM
- Shut up Mike Hart, 0-6
- Is losing the last game in November and your Bowl game now called a Llllloyd?
- Shut up Mike Hart, 0-6
- Ron English is really a lot of hype. The two good offenses he schemed against shredded his D. Genious? Me thinks not. Good coach, just not that good.
- Shut up Mike Hart, 0-6
- How long until TSUN "returns to glory"?
- 0-6
