I'm assuming it has more to do with how badly they were defeated on a national stage,then anything else.
Actually their bowl performances were barely discussed this past season.There isn't a ton of people that are exactly bragging up Oklahoma's bowl performances either.

Ohio State?s Wells To Visit Several NFL Teams

Ohio State star running back Chris ?Beanie? Wells is scheduled to visit multiple NFL teams over the next few weeks, according to a league source.
Among the visits Wells currently has planned: the Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, San Diego Chargers and the Seattle Seahawks.
Wells was clocked between 4.38 and 4.44 seconds in the 40-yard dash at his campus Pro Day, impressing NFL scouts with his size-speed ratio at 6-foot-1, 235 pounds. Wells told Ohio reporters following the workout that some teams timed him as fast as 4.34 seconds.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Wells registered a 33 1/2 inch vertical leap and bench pressed 225 pounds 25 times.
In three seasons for the Buckeyes, the All-Big Ten Conference running back rushed for 3,382 yards and scored 30 touchdowns. The Akron native was twice named the Buckeyes? Most Valuable Player.

OWINGS MILLS ? Ohio State star running back Chris ?Beanie? Wells is scheduled to visit the Baltimore Ravens? training complex today, his agent said.
Wells also has visits planned with the Seattle Seahawks, San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals and the Denver Broncos.
At 6-foot-1, 235 pounds, Wells has outstanding speed. He was timed in the 4.38 to 4.4 range in the 40-yard dash at his campus workout. Some NFL teams clocked Wells as fast as 4.34 seconds at his Pro Day. Wells registered a 33 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 10-8 broad jump and bench pressed 225 pounds 25 times at the NFL scouting combine.
An All-Big Ten Conference selection, Wells was hampered last season by several injuries that included toe, foot, concussion and hamstring problems. He gained 1,197 yards and scored eight touchdowns. As a junior, Wells rushed for 1,609 yards and 15 touchdowns.
In terms of playing style, Wells has drawn comparisons to Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis.
