RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

What I don't get is how people are reacting. The questions about Beanie's "heart", willingness to "play hurt", Tressel holding him out, not holding him out, and so on.

He hasn't practiced since the YSU game. What makes anyone think that a guy can or will play when he hasn't practiced, medical clearance or not?

We're going to know that he's ready to play when he participates in a full practice. It's just not that hard.

on ESPN news Tressel said Beanie will not play this saturday :(

If he was hurt bad enough that he couldnt play against USC, then there isnt a good reason why he should be able to play against Troy a week later. After getting smoked as bad as we did against USC, there is no way we should even be in NC discussions, so non conference games really dont matter that much. Save him for the big ten, make sure he is healthy.

I don't know if it's been discused or not, but is there any way he would come back for next year if he misses to many games? Guess it would depend on how he ends up doing the rest of the season and how high he would be predicted to go in the draft...

He's only a junior anyways.

I don't think there would be chemistry among a ND QB, scUM WR, and OSU RB. There would be fights daily, and Beanie would win just like OSU does when we play ND and scUM.

I'm just happy that the Raiders got McFadden. Pretty pumped that Beanie won't be a Raider.

If you care about the Beanie's future you will hope he's gone next year. He only has so many years left on those wheels.

I dont' want him back next year. I don't. Not one bit. He should leave after this year. He's proven he's a dominate back at this level and now it's time for him to go and get his millions like he deserves. For me (or any of us) to sit here and wish he comes back would be selfish of us. I would love to see him with OSU forever, but if it means him sustaining another injury then forget it.

The kids 240 odd pound. A target that big is going to be a bruiser no matter what and he's going to take a beating because of that. Sure his speed is great for a big man, but IMO not great enough to avoid NFL defenses. Backs like him don't last rediculously long in the NFL because of the punishment they take. So he needs to leave to maximize his NFL career instead of staying here and risking it all.
