RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

I wish I could have a sip of the Kool Aid, but in Tressel-speak "doubtful" = "no chance in hell". Unless, as has been suggested he is playing head games. I think not.

As for missing the USC game increasing the odds Beanie returns - I feel the opposite here as well. Injuries make you think about how vulnerable you are. Cash in while you can - ala Oden. If it turns out that he can't be effective all season he may be forced to return to up his stock - but that is not a scenario any of us are hoping for.

As for Pryor being the answer, the chances of substantial changes to the game plan at this point are close to zero. More use of plays where his strengths are exploited - perhaps. But if we didn't play the Pryor card to beat OU why do it now? Hopes that a true Frosh will bail us out in LA are wishful thinking in the extreme.

We win in the trenches and we have a chance with or without Beanie. Lose in the trenches and we have no chance with or without Beanie.

Now, if I can just get the image of Mo Wells meeting Maualuga at the LOS out of my mind perhaps I can sleep tonight.

There - have I cheered everybody up?

Text from who? Someone who just saw the article and wanted you to know about it, or from someone directly tied to the team?
Akronbuck has said before he has connections to Beanie (and his mom)...they are from the same hometown.

to put a spin on that though

-it could be someone just wanting to keep this as much under wraps as possible and even put out false information.
-person could just be wrong
-no offense to akronbuck, and while I may believe he might have some connections, he could be unreliable/untrustworthy (as with all other internet posters)

On the JT Call-in Show (1460), he stated that they were going to give him a full 48 hours to rest--and then reevaluate at 5:22 PST...

Thanks for posting that.

Let's think about this logically. Beanie carried the ball 25 times in practice yesterday and played well. This after a week long layoff. Obviously the issue is not whether he'll be fresh, but whether he's be able to play through the soreness. With a couple of days of full rest, no way no how is Beanie not seeing the field on Saturday.

Absolutely true.

I must be missing something... If he's really hurt, wouldn't you want to give the opposite impression... something like "He's not 100%, but he practiced yesterday. We don't know yet for sure. It's day to day..." so PC spends/wastes time practicing for something that's not gonna happen?

..unless he thinks USC may take a step to complacency after hearing the news.
