RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Bold Prediction:

If Beanie doesn't get significant carries vs. USC, he will be back next year to make up for it.

Mark it down.

I hope you are right. I think if he ends up missing a significant amount of time this season it may affect his draft status which might bring him back anyway so he can show the world next year that he is healthy and able to tear up the NFL.

Well this is a kick in the junk if true... I am trying to see the logic at all for Tressel to even give an update on Beanie. What good does it do anyone to know if he is or is not playing? His team knows.... why give an update at all? Tress is a good coach... I am leaning to think there is a coaching reason for this update.

Only thing important is Beanie is healthy. If he can not go, so be it. The young man has proven his toughness and has a future to think about. So goal #1 is to get healthy Beanie.

Besides, we are still going to go out to L.A punch them in mouth and play great Ohio State football. Beanie is the star of this team, but there will be 11 members on that field at any given time making sure not to let him or their team down.

Go Bucks!!!! :oh:

I'm not reading into this completely. Although I don't doubt he's a bit sore, I pretty much guarantee he is in there playing Sat. Give him some heavy pain killers and have him go.... and if I understand Beanie as a competitor, I guarantee he will want to play... Tressell needs to just let Beanie decide if he will be good to go or not................... my bet is he'll be playing.

I would perfer not to see Mo Wells get as many carries as he had last week. If Beanie can't play I hope Boom and Zoom get the bulk of the carries. IMO Beanie will be out there Saturday to give what he can give. I just hope he isn't as sore as they are making it sound.
I love BP. So many tempered responses. The Scout board looks like the Nazis at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
I agree. I mostly post over on scout because that is where I started posting, but it is absolutely ridiculous over there sometimes. Really foolish stuff gets posted.

BTW, someone just said Beanie was on the radio and said he will play with the soreness anyway. Don't have a source though.

I do feel that if tOSU does win without, or a limited Beanie, it could help the recognition for the team. After last week everyone was talking about how Beanie is practically the whole team. If the O-Line can dominate and everyone else steps up, there is the possibility of a win. So it may not be all bad.

I do want Beanie though.

IMO, no way in hell Beanie doesn't play Saturday night. The kid is a warrior and will get through it. Let him rest until Saturday and let him go.

Tough to see Beanie doubtful. But the Buckeyes are more than just 1 player. If it really matters that much if Beanie is in there or not, then this TEAM would have faultered at some point down the line. I, as much as anybody, hope Beanie can be healthy ASAP. But he isn't our whole team. He isn't our whole offense. We are a great team with him. We are a great team without him. The sky is not falling. Go Bucks! Beat USC!
