RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Any of us who had any questions (myself included) about Beanie's toughness just took another hit in learning about his wrist injury. Beanie is a beast, a warrior and a classy quiet leader. If Raymont Harris was the "quiet storm" then maybe Beanie is the quiet warrior.

BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : Wells for Heisman? Maybe next year

CHRIS RUSSELL Dispatch

Chris "Beanie" Wells could make a Heisman run next season if his statistics are similar to the second half of 2007.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Chris "Beanie" Wells had one thing on his mind Saturday.

"I wanted us to beat Michigan," the Ohio State running back said. "The rivalry, and with so much on the line -- that's all I was thinking about. We had to beat Michigan."

It's funny where a one-track mind can take a man. Wells not only rushed for a personal-best 222 yards -- the most ever by an Ohio State back against Michigan -- in a 14-3 win, but he ran right into the picture for next year's Heisman Trophy.

"I mean, nobody really knew who Beanie was outside of Columbus, Ohio," Ohio State fullback Dionte Johnson said. "So hopefully we got his name on the map so he can start things off right for next year."

Beanie's Heisman campaign

After reading BuckinFla's comment about Tebow struggling with his shoulder, it reminded me that last year the public had a say (albeit small) in the Heisman, does anyone have the site ? It would be slightly empowering to give Beanie some props.

Could not remember when it came up last year, but just remember there were some shenanigans with someone (Leak, White) Beanie with a good performance in a nationally televised bowl game (hopefully in Nawlins) will have his foot squarely in the door. I think it is good that Beanie's name will be on peoples toungue early as I still think that Keith Byers got Flutied since Flutie was a senior and Byers only a junior. That was my Freshman year at tOSU and I felt Byers got hosed by the "Hail Mary" heave:(

Wells adds broken hand to his long list of ailments; Boone gauges NFL's interest

He's had bone spurs, a high ankle sprain and a bruised thumb.
Now you can add a broken bone to Beanie Wells' growing injury list.
Wells appeared at the Ohio State Alumni Association banquet Tuesday night in Cleveland wearing a brace on his left hand. Turns out, he's played much of this year with a broken bone in his left hand. Only he just found out about it on Monday.
"I'm not sure when I broke it," he said. "It's been bothering me for a while. They just finally X-rayed it (Monday)."

Jonathan (Lewis Center, Ohio): Are injury problems and durability making pro teams wonder about Chris Wells of Ohio State?

Mel Kiper: (1:18 PM ET ) No. I think Beanie Wells, remember he's only a sophomore, has played electric football. He's bee arguably the best player on the field in some of these games. He's got a multi-dimensional in his running style. He can hit the HR. He has a ton of skills as a RB. He's going to be one of the top Heisman candidates next year and has the chance to be a top draft pick. When he came out of high school, he was considered the second or third best player. The consensus best player was Percy Harvin.

:io:.

Damn, Beanie just has the rugged, Jim Brown, badass look to him.

It's a nice change up during the age of the pretty-boy flashy speed backs, to go to a straight up man who will kick your ass.
