RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

This is the player we all expected to see when we recruited Beanie. When healthy, he's proven he can be a beast... When coupled with the returning talent and assuming he stays healthy (a big if with the way he runs) we could be looking at another Heisman and a NC.

Psst Beanie how do you like the sounds of this....."and only the second man in college football history to win the award twice, Beanie Wells accepts the Heisman trophy for THE Ohio State University". Has a nice ring to it doesn't it. Junior year he helps Boeckman lead OSU to a national title and his first Heisman, then as a returning senior he sparks the team to back to back titles and his (almost) unprecedented second trophy to establish himself as one of college football greatest players.

psssst Beanie!

it is NOT okay to take an envelope with $500 cash in it...

and please do not buy sex on the streets. Don't even joke about it!

Me personally, I'll be happy with one Heisman before he goes pro.

I think the prospect of that ought to helpkeep Alex Boone at OSU for another year, too.

Great job, Beanie!

Beanie was voted the Big Ten's Co-Offensive Player of the Week, with Wisconsin's Zach Brown. Beanie had 222 yards on 39 carries in the freezing rain against a defense playing 8-10 guys in the box in a game for the outright Big Ten title, whilst Brown gained 250 yards on 29 carries inside a dry, room-temperature dome against the #11 rush defense in a totally meaningless game. You go ahead and tell me with a straight face that Brown deserves to share this award with Beanie...

Beanie accounts for 222 of tOSU's 279 yards against scUM.

Brown accounts for 250 yards against the country's worst defense.

Hmm, tough choice here. :roll2:

OSU Running back sets record, steals the show

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Saturday was supposed to be a showcase for Michigan's Mike Hart.
Chris Wells stole the show.
The Ohio State sophomore ran for 222 yards and two touchdowns Saturday, helping the No. 7 Buckeyes win the Big Ten championship with a rainy 14-3 victory.
The 222 yards was 52 more than any other Buckeye had ever managed against Michigan, breaking the record of 170 by Carlos Snow in 1998.

piss poor journalism. :shake:

I know everyone is high on the Beanie Wells Heisman campaign, and rightfully so, but you gotta remember a couple things. Tim Tebow is likely to win the Heisman this year and he's only a sophomore. Odds are he could likely come back next year and win it ahead of Wells, given that he's a bigger name in the national media also doesn't hurt. Throw in a player like Knowshon Moreno and Ryan Mallett (Ok, I was kidding about Mallett) and it will be a very tough race for Wells. Not saying it's impossible, just a few things to remember

Yeah, who are we kidding? Ohio State running backs... when have they ever won a Heisman? :ohwell:

Given that this year is possibly one of the craziest in college football history and there is not even close to a front runner for the Heisman, I think the national media would be hesitant to give Tebow the award two years in a row (or at least I hope so) if he won it this year. If there are multiple obvious front runners for the Heisman next year (which there should be) I think the media will be inclined to give it to someone else next year (barring him putting up absolutely ridiculous numbers next year that surpass this years). That, again, is based on the assumption that he wins it this year.

All this taken into account, I think Beanie has as good a shot as anyone to win the Heisman next year, even if Tebow wins this year.
