RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Beanie has shown flashes of brilliance. The first two games he looked a little rusty but since then has turned in some great performances, especially on limited carries (partially due to his ankle).

I can't wait till he's 100%. I'm sure he'll put up some amazing numbers.

OSU's Wells runs despite aching ankle

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 Doug Lesmerises

Plain Dealer Reporter
Columbus- Ohio State running back Beanie Wells is playing with scar tissue in his left ankle remaining from a surgery during his freshman year in high school, his mother, Paulette Wells, said Tuesday night. She said that surgery wasn't injury-re lated but was required to re move an extra bone that her son was born with.
The exact medical status of the Buckeyes' No. 1 running back had been the subject of much speculation this season after Wells left Ohio State's first three Big Ten games to have his ankle attended to on the sideline. Saturday, he described an occasional pinching pain in his ankle after powering for a career-high 221 yards against Michigan State.

Wells' ankle injury remains mystery

Ohio State notes

COLUMBUS - The mystery surrounding Beanie Wells' ailing left ankle continues to grow.
Coach Jim Tressel denied rumors Tuesday that Wells' ankle will require offseason surgery, while Wells said he wasn't sure what is wrong with the ankle at all.
"It was a sprain in the beginning," he said. "I'm not even sure what's all the way going on."
Wells had surgery on the ankle as a freshman, but said Tuesday he thought the newest injury was a "coincidence" and not related to that one.
Even with the flat tire, Wells rolled to career highs of 31 carries and 221 yards last week against Michigan State. The yardage total is ninth-best in Ohio State history for a single game. Before Saturday, Wells was averaging just under 17 carries per game.

Just seems to be a nagging injury. I'm glad to see him playing through it, I just hope it doesn't get worse and leads to missing a lot of game time.

Yeah, makes me a little nervous because we'll need him to get more and more carries each game down the stretch. Let's hope he's able to make it through these last 4 without missing too many series.
