RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

To me Zeke is a great back but not a big bruising style of back. Zeke may very well be our feature back next year and he would get my vote. But I'm talking a big back to just pound through a line for 1 to 3 yards when needed. I think Dunn can provide that.

Just sayin': It will be interesting to see (Sept 2014) how many pounds of muscle Dunn has added since he last played (2012 season). Before his Ohio State career is over, he could become that "big back" you are talking about.

I'll bet Dunn is more like 235 now. And Ball 230ish. And who knows how big EZ gets in the off season. So, it's not like we don't have a power back is it? But, we've seen an evolution of the offense every year so far. With a mostly new offensive line and new backs combined with the addition of so much speed, we may see another evolution.

Dunn was announced at 216 pounds at the spring game. IMHO, "vision" is the most important quality an RB can have. Carlos Hyde, is an example of a back with good vision, Mo C was a back who had great vision. Both, rarely ran into a pile up at a closed hole, and took a loss. Both had the "vision' to see where he could run to get something, even if the play blew up.

Just from what I saw yesterday at the spring game, I would say, Dunn had the best vision. By Contrast, Samuels who I know is a true freshman, didn't show much in the way vision yesterday. I recall him being stacked up at the line more than once.

The thing that made Hyde special was he has extremely quick feet for a big back

I hope I'm wrong, but I just haven't seen anything special about Dunn, even in that spring game

Dunn is ahead of where Hyde was as a Sophomore everywhere but the speed department (I think Hyde was and is slightly faster) - if Dunn can continue to develop the vision Hyde had and the ability to remain on his feet, Dunn can be just as good if not better. Time will tell. As it is though, Dunn will have to take carries away from EzE at some point if we're going to find out.

Dunn is a Big type back. A bruiser with some wiggle. His high school film had me thinking he was just a pure power guy but better conditioning has made him big time. Now, as long as he is motivated to compete he could end up the equal of Hyde. Maybe even have a better career.

With Dunn I just think he has to be patient. Rod is an almost identical back as Dunn and will likely split the carries with EzE this season. Then you would have to imagine Dontre and Samuel will be getting a few touches as well. Barring injury (fingers crossed), I don't see Bri'onte getting the ball much this season. However, I do think after Smith leaves this year there is going to be more than enough opportunity for Dunn.
